The three phase electric system is commonly used in industrial and commercial settings, as it allows for more efficient use of power by distributing the load evenly among the three phases. Three Phase Meter is also known as three phase energy meter. As compared to Single Phase Meter a Three Phase Meter typically measure voltage and current of three different phase wires. 3 Phase Meter uses this information to calculate electric power consumed by load. 3 Phase Energy meter also record and display the total energy consumed over time, allowing for easy monitoring and billing of power usage. Additionally, some Three Phase Meter have capability to communicate data remotely for remote monitoring and control purposes.

The single phase system is commonly used in residential and small commercial settings. It requires less complex electrical wiring than a three phase electrical system. As compared to Three Phase Meter a Single phase energy meter typically measure the voltage and current of single phase wire. Single Phase Meter record and display the total energy consumed over time, allowing for easy monitoring and billing of power usage. Both 3 Phase Meter and Single Phase Meter digital energy meter are more advanced than mechanical meters in term of accuracy. Modern Single Phase Meter can prevent tampering as well. Both Three Phase Meter and Single phase electric energy meter provides data for electric utility companies. In this ways WAPDA and K Electric track energy consumption and billing.
Single phase meter connection is a two wire electric energy meter. Basic connection of a single phase meter use one Phase wire and one Neutral wire. Where as Three phase meter connection is a four wire electric energy meter. Basic connection of a three phase meter use three Phase wires and one Neutral wire.
