Great review Rob, despite the controversial design for this incarnation, this figure is very well detailed and the paint is, well, mostly metallic silver and red with the eyes, it's still nice. However, getting this in the second-hand market is a nightmare as the prices are way too high to even consider to get. That's the ultimate problem for p-bandai figures in the end. either way, great review!!!

But.. like Final Wars, it seems Bandai likes to operate on Box Office Success numbers. Not bombs. And that’s a shame. Especially today. Hopefully, at some point, that will change. I don’t know many people willing to pay those 2nd hand prices, box or not. And honestly, people really shouldn’t have to.
Indeed, it had its issues due to the rush, but even then, they were a fun new direction for Godzilla. I’d love a new attempt in that timeline at some point!
i have been trying to get this guy for my Mecha G collection. but the prices they are asking for are freaking nuts. you can find a Godzilla Earth or a Ghidorah figure for around 30 bucks. but 200 is a bit much for this guy...
Way too much, especially considering what it went for at release. That’s the unfortunate side to Bandai Premium releases.. once they’re gone, they’re gone. Rarely ever getting reproduced. Really wish Bandai would just size him down and give him a standard release. One overpriced vinyl figure and an overpriced set of mini figures just.. ain’t it. At least give it a re-release at some point. Sheesh.

It’s that one Mechagodzilla that would have looked cool if it had actual screen time in the anime but is hardly portrayed at all and is just a city that later gets destroyed anyways.
To get more on the back story of the anime trilogy i suggest you read the Godzilla prequel novels both monster apocolypse and project mechagodzilla to get more in debt story of the trilogy
when I get my big meaty hands on this figure I’d make him the main villain of the series because the xilliens could have used godzilla filius deceased body to make this mechagodzilla
Me to, ashame they didn't do anything with this design, I mean I know people love the classics (I do to) but this Mecha-godzilla has such a cool "space weapon" vibe to him, and according to the novel he has quite the deadly arsenal, which you can see on full display in the mmd Godzilla Earth vs Mecha-godzilla video, I highly recommend it, it's way better than the movie
Not my fav Mechagodzilla mainly because I never got around to watching the rest of the Polygon trilogy (my fav is 74) but the design is wicked. Bandai did such an excellent job at capturing its spiky-ness in vinyl form. Not bummed that I'll never own but it is unfortunate this had only one release and the aftermarket prices are insane. I do agree that this deserve a second go. Might pick it up then. Also, epic to see a Sonic vid coming for his belated birthday!

The reason why we're not going to get the real complete Beavis and Butt-Head collection is because of the sexual harassment, animal cruelty, elderly cruelty. There's 200 episodes an 80 are missing. That's why... Peace
