According to wiki, this show aired in 1992 on Thursdays at 8:30pm. That would have them competing against Martin on Fox. Maybe that's why they didn't last long. I hated when the networks use to do that; they use to air all the black shows on the same day right around the same time, forcing black house holds to choose. Thankful for streaming.
I remember the night they both premiered. You're right, about being forced to choose. Back then though we did have VCRs. I taped this show and watched Martin. This show was canceled with a quickness but Martin is still airing strong in syndication to this day. They both were must see TV for me because I lived in Detroit and worked in radio.
@@getreadytotube Calloway was born March 20,1957. She is a VERY intelligent Woman(She has an IQ of 171). She had a Bit Part in Coming to America as Eddie Murphy's Arranged Bride. Calloway is also a Literary Writer, and to Xennials, we best know her as Jamika on Bebe's Kids.
My bad, if you’re talking about the other character at the station, that was Miguel A. Nunez. Although funny enough, I do believe he was actually part of a rare pilot of the OG Power Rangers before Walter Jones was officially Zack lol
@@freddyvidz I read a long time ago in 1992(the year this show had it short run)an advertisement in magazine ad for this show that featured Anna Marie Horsford and Roger Kabler the featured the caption: "she was looking for the wildest DJ on black radio, instead she got the weirdest"
The 90s began the trashification of Black music. Rap wasn't dominated by misogyny at the beginning. It was in 90s rap that degradation of women became the norm. Eventually female rappers began 2 degrade and objectify themselves and other women. Then it spread 2 R&B. RIP Good Black Music. 🪦

Didn't they use the same melody for Robert Townsend's The Parent 'Hood 's?
Yes indeed they did, and funny enough, I #lowkey liked this version much better lol

Vanessa Bell Calloway!

Ron Glass should have been the FOCUS of this show. He was *_ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT_* as Felix Unger in 1982/1982
*_The New Odd Couple_* 💯
I agree. He looks more like Felix without his Jheri Curl
I agree. He looks more like Felix without his haircut short .
Jesse Powell in the background 😢r.i.p
If you are referring to the poster on the door in the background, it's Brian McKnight.
I'm 99% sure that the dancer with the hat on is Walter Jones. The Black Ranger from Power Rangers.

@UchennaAmajoyi Nah. Opening credits. Pretty sure it's him.
The lone white DJ is more weird then wild
