ALL IPADS: HOME BUTTON NOT WORKING, STUCK, STICKY, LAGGY, UNRESPONSIVE, BROKE- 3 EASY FIXES

- I give you 3 possible easy fixes to get your home button working again without the need to open your iPad. Note that the third option is not a fix but a work around and you will be able to take screen shots this way too.
Here are the 3 possible fixes / workarounds
1- Re-calibrate home button- especially good for slow or laggy home button.
2- Rubbing Alcohol- dirt, grime, sand, lint, hand lotion, soda, etc can be stuck around or in the crevices of the home buton.
3- Assistive Touch- This is a workaround but you will also be able to take screen shots.

Nice! Number 1 worked for me. Interesting how something that seemed like a hardware issue was rectified with a software recalibration.

Alcohol worked like a charm! My little daughter gets lots of crumbs and juice box drips in her home button so this is a life saver.
I am so grateful. It still does not work, but it worked long enough to get the iPad past the Hello screen to turn on the Assistive Touch. Thank you sooooo much. I thought my iPad was rendered useless because I could not get past the Hello screen and it kept asking me to push the home button, which I could not do. Apple could not even help me on the phone.

Thanks!!!! I've had this issue for awhile. I honestly have just been using the button on top to turn my iPad OFF every time I need to go to a new something new like Internet, camera, iHeart, etc. I'll be using that third option lol
I just found a fourth solution. I have not had the home button working for years. Take a screen shot. If the screen blinks, the button is fixed. Your mileage may vary, but it worked for me.

Wow it worked. Thanks man! Mine wasn’t even broken or slow, it just had a half-click like it has some dirt underneath. And the alcohol thingy removed it
Just turn on assess of touch then go in assess touch and take all off but keep one then go change it to home

Dude, you just saved me like $375. I had a good feeling alcohol would do the trick but thanks for the video. The alcohol broke up whatever toddler stuff had gotten around the otterbox on the ipad pro and it works just fine after letting it dry out.

Theres a problem with my ipad, its stuck on the screen where my tabs are open. I cant double tap when on this screen to try and get rid of the tabs. I cant even power off my ipad, because it wont let me. The only place where my home button works is when im on the lock screen. I can go to my camera if i swipe right on my lock screen, i can browse through my photos, but cant exit from there. I hope i can get help without going to the place and letting them fix it.

my button is working again, but its still in like 45 degrees inclinated(it was before i do the trick) and the button is a little sunk. i tried to move my finger in circles but the button dont back to the original position.

I have a different type of home button and I use lotion and then kept on rubbing slowly on the corners after putting the lotion around the home button i kept on pushing corners with my finger and now it’s fixed :)

Shit man thanks! It worked. I had my button sticking and clicking for months and thought I was doomed to bad hardware. I have an only iPod where the button collapsed and another where it rotates

A tech came and replaced my broken screen and the home button has be slight depressed inwards ever since and hard to use
