As one of the people lucky enough to see Khan!!! off-Broadway, I have to point out that this song includes, but unfortunately can't quite deliver context for, one of the best musical in-jokes in the show. Specifically, the narrator of this song (who as he points out voices the captain of the _Kobayashi Maru_ itself) is Data, who has programmed the whole show as a holodeck sim. Which means that Data is the one saying "Is anybody there? Does anybody care?" Which is one of John Adams's most stirring lines from _1776_. And who played Adams in the late-90s revival of _1776_? Brent "Data" Spiner. (This multilayered aspect is what makes it an in-joke, as opposed to just a fantastic and hilarious line, like the double-tap of "it worked for President Lin-Manuel Miranda.")
Okay so, Star Trek Has been ruined for me so I can't really enjoy this, but you are NAILING the whole "Broadway" thing here. I also don't like this style of musical, but you're doing it right. So, I don't like it, but I think you did a great job anyway! Keep kicking the big A!
@@loopyfists It's a sort of a feel thing. I know how these go. You watch a few, they all sound sorta the same. Some are better. This has the right vibe musically. It also doesn't feel like he's A phoning it in or B frankensteining it by not knowing how it goes together but shoving pieces together anyway. It blends properly. It looks right, which I feel like means something when the person saying it doesnt even like the thing that it is. "I hate sour grapes. These grapes are exactly what I hate about sour grapes which is what everyone else seems to like. Looks like ya nailed it buddy! Good job!" Get it?
No comments? That’s a crime for great music
I’m so excited to play Data in this show!!!
Awesome❤
😍 I love it
This is genuinely hilarious.
Boys, we are back! (Yes, this is the third time I commented this today. 😅)
2:14 nice.

Thanks for noticing! :)
@@brentalfloss I remember gushing about that to you when I saw it!
Sadly, this loses the physical comedy aspect of Spock calmly standing there and announcing "I am Spock," but it's still a great song.
Guess people will just have to use their imaginations 🤷♂😜
