@melanated_persephone2334 i jist hate the showrunners didnt have the patience or the writing talent to give us 2 more season, see dany slowly go mad or even see her play the game and gain allies and alliances. All she did was wander around and demand the people bend the knee and FFS they killed cersie off camera and tried to make us feel bad about it. They were ready to make some star wars movies and said F it
Remember Danerys said Cersi uses her mercy against her. Even though they rang the bells, Danerys felt like if she had shown mercy, Cersi would've used that against her. Danerys was at the point of no mercy.
I never liked that they repeat the "Dany loses a dragon to the Night King and a trusted advisor" straight away with "Dany loses a dragon to Cersei and a trusted advisor". Varys and Tyrion both seemed squeamish with Dany using Dragons but both knew she used them to actually take power in Essos.
“Sandor. Thank you.” The most worthwhile moment of the episode. It was so easy for Dany and Drogon to take out the Iron Fleet and the scorpions in this episode, but when it could have saved her friend from being captured, it was apparently impossible. Lordy. Sloppy writing in a series this amazing is so frustrating to see.
In the words of Ramsey... "If you think this story has a happy ending.. You haven't been paying attention!" Also, I'm sick of hearing everyone bitching about Dany going crazy.. She's literally been mercin people from the gate 😂
I had no problem with her going crazy, but we needed some steps in between "slaughter those who have wronged me or have harmed innocents" and "slaughter surrendering innocents unnecessarily". Flipping like that in one moment or over the course of one episode is insane and isn't explained away by her losing friends or hearing Missandei say "dracarys". We need to go from "protect the innocent" to "I'm fine if innocents die" to "I'll kill innocents if they're in my way" in order to finally get to "because I'm angry, I'll kill these people that have not wronged me, aren't in my way, and who are surrendering". They tried to speed run this and it makes it jarring as hell
@@ptolover7 that's just shitty writing from dumb and dumber. I totally agree with you though. I'm just not surprised that she went mad. I could see it coming a mile away. @97 Til If she had followed her mind and listen to Lady Olenna and be a dragon she would have already conquered Kings Landing. Lady Olenna might still have been alive and Yara Greyjoy and the Dornish army would still be here. Missandei who is one of 5he nicest person in the show told Dany “Dracary’s”. Why because they have taken Dany’s hesitancy for weakness that’s why Cersei had Missandei beheaded. Cersei purposefully locked those people in Kings Landing to use them as shields
Dany has shown small glimpses off and on for a few seasons of being capable of crashing out but the loss of Missandei and another dragon completely pushed her over the edge
After rewatching the show a few times, you can see how much Jorah Mormont helped to temper her worst impulses. Overall she thrived on people's love of her.. he loved her more than anyone else. Jon Snow loved her but had just spurned her. I didn't like this version of her at the time, but it does make sense. My only issue is how fast it seemed to happen.
she showed it towards the beginning when they got to Qarth, the greatest city that ever was and ever will be. her whole character is a walking mesiah complex with an obsession for a throne that literally never belonged to her. i believe it was even tyrion that questioned her on staying on the other side since she was doing so much good there, but she wanted to leave purely out of selfish desire
@@Lightbrite93 She literally sacrificed everything.. including happiness.. to "fulfill her destiny". I get having the ambition, but to want to rule a kingdom that you never really grew up in was always destined to fail. Better to have built an empire somewhere else.
@97 Til Varys was trying to have Dany poisoned fellas, that’s why he kept sending the little girl to the kitchen and that’s why the little girl said they are watching her.
Dany wasnt a tyrant, the writers tried to make her out that way. The whole “going mad trope” was so out of character for dany it’s not even funny, and people who say it isn’t, don’t know her character
When vanars came to dany all she asked was that he talk to her about any issues or doubts he has about her ruling before going behind her back. It was literally the only thing she asked and he didn’t do it.
@ what was her mistake? Why are they expecting her to be nice with Saoirse and Kings Landing? They would have no problem with a male ruler, coming in and taking charge and having some aggression Think about the battle of Black water Did anyone care about how many lives were lost? They’re fighting a war. No one cared about casualties unless talking about Danny whatever the men had casualties that was consequences of war. Danny had casualties she’s must be going crazy.
Dany wanted Fire and Blood the entire time. She has advisors, Jorah worked, but it all went downhill after he died. Tyrion's ways never worked. She only listened to ONE person, Missandei, and she said to burn it all down when her dying word was Dracarys.
Bad writing aside, again. Standing ovation to the production of this episode, normally everything that is filmed in King's Landing is shot in Croatia, but since for this episode they needed to show the destroyed and burned city, they weren't going to be able to do it in the real city, so they completely recreated this entire city from scratch at Titanic Studios, complete city blocks built from scratch for these scenes, incredible work.
@NightWolfNym yeah silly her thinking, helping the Northerners save the North and Winterfell would have made them appreciate her, but instead they resented her Jon started acting weird and Sansa poisoned the minds of many of the Northern people against her

Don't mean to knock the show too much- It's made infinitely better watching it with you two. It's just having such a good show in the beginning as the quality starts to match less and less, before suddenly things to go into a rush mode.
Two things. First of all, could it be that the Lord of Light kept all the people alive, not to kill the Night King. But for all of it to lead to this. What is burning a whole city alive but a gigantic sacrifice to the Lord of Light ? Another thing I noticed was the Wildfire that explodes while Dany is torching the city. Isn't that the Wildfire placed there by her dead father the Mad King to quote: "Burn them all."

@@kathiamartinez2586 Could be, but if that was the case he wouldnt have been trying to restore the Targaryens into power. It is most likely that he heard The Lord of Light, hence why the Red Priestess knew
She always was going to do this, since the very beginning: she ALWAYS chose fire and blood. We all justified it in the beginning, because back then it was always self defense. We made excuses for her all along because we liked her, but she was always a tyrant; just one without power. Breaker of chains or not. The tragic irony is that Jon needs to rule, but he refuses, and Dany needs to stand down, but she refuses. They both refuse to grow up, which would have meant sacrificing their own wants for Varys' dream of 'the good of the realm.' Tough as it would have been for both of them, they were supposed to be king and queen
Cope. She's shown both Mercy and Wrath, but not towards innocents, even through the terribly written version of her character in the later seasons of the show. There was no reason she would burn innocent people after having already won the war, no actual development to her character that would make that choice in that moment. It was shitty, rushed, and forced writing that every other character got as well so the show runners could end the show in time to work on Star wars.
Tbf, I enjoyed watching Kings Landing burn (as it is one of the only times we see the Dragon cause proper damage😂) sucks for the 'innocents' i guess, but people do take this too seriously, imo. But it makes sense for her to do this, as she is still dealing with the grief and anger of losing Rhaegal and Missandei, Jorah etc. And the fact that she feels betrayed by everyone around her (except Greyworm).
I love you guys but remember Tyrion keeps letting her down on everything. And then he freed Jaime. They killed her best friend. How dafuq yall don't understand this? This is what gets me with reaction videos yall are on point to a point. I would have burn them all.
So, before House of the Dragon, to lift your spirits and catch your breath, you need to watch and react to all the fun GOT extras. First, The Last Watch, about the making of season 8, which is terrific. Then Game of Thrones: the Musical, Jon Snow at a Dinner Party, Melisandre at a Baby Shower, Kit Harington and Toothless, Honest Trailers !, plus a whole lot more. I can't remember if you did R+L=J, but if not, then that is a must. That allows you to come down from GOT and get some perspective so that you're in the right headspace for HotD.
When I watched this bih live I was laughing my ass off when all them scorpions on the castle, the entire fleet full of scorpions on every single ship and the entire golden company burned up in an instant. You’re telling me they got like 2 shots off before she burned everything? Cmon now. That entire story line meant absolutely nothing. And then to top it all off Dany goes against everything she said she was trying to stop, ish is so stupid bro
Before the civilians, what the hell did y’all mean “I don’t know how I feel about Dany?” What exactly did Varys and everyone else think he meant when he promised Olenna fire and blood? When they all took their happy asses across the narrow sea to court a woman with three dragons? I don’t know, that whole part of your convo felt like y’all had either seen this already or had heard about the ending because prior to the bells, she was doing everything y’all had been hyping her up to do.
they definaltey had seen it or heard about the ending. the one on the left was hating on Dany by season 5 with no reason to. he knew already the ending by other Dany haters just accepting her change by dumb and dumber without questioning it.
Poor ass writing and character assassination got us here. Martin never intended for her to go crazy, but this was the easiest way to end the show. You think it's gonna be Jon the writers said SIKE 😂😂😂. cersei was never a real threat to Danny. She stared out of the window delusional the entire fight. Her only purpose was to give Danny a reason to crash out big. She lost Drogo and her child so she's no stranger to losing love. She lost a trusted advisor in Qarth so she was no stranger to that either. She didn't grow up with the love of the people so it made no sense for her to be obsessed with that. Whatever
When it comes to the actual events of this episode, things were always going to play out like this. My problem, along with most of the fanbases problem, is it seems like they just hit plot point after plot point with no substance in between. Especially in this season. Shortening the seasons was the worst thing any show I've ever seen has done. It just makes you wonder what would've been if seasons 7 and 8 were both 10 episodes each.
14:50 wait.. whats the logistics here? If davos smugles a boat at the shore, what does he do after? , he swims back? He rows in one and tows the other one? He gets a helper? But its a secret mission.. how?

How, by the end of this, all the characters you disliked have become the ones you admire the most & those you had hope for just failed.. Regardless of anything else what disappointed me most was that Cersai & Jaime got to meet up & die together…… I wanted neither of them to get that satisfaction
exactly...I don't know what motivated the writers of the show to literally cater to these two characters. Literally re-wrote them distinctly different than their original motivations that they started out having. Cersei being a vulnerable, clingy, princess who meets the love of her life? She treated Jamie like a piece of meat...her favorite piece of meat. And don't get me started on Jamie. It was like they softened him up for the love of his sister and f**k the world? Nah fam...
Davos says "when have you known bells to mean surrender" or something similar at the battle of blackwater while you hear bells earlier in the show, so it has happened.
Yeah I knew this was who she was. People saying it is out of character are just people that did not pay enough attention or refused to see what they did not want to see.
Cope. Nothing about her character was built up to murder civilians after already winning the war for no actual reason. Being a tyrant was built up, yes. Firebombing women and children after already having taken out the iron fleet, golden company, and the rest of the army surrendering after actively avoiding collateral damage her whole conquest wasn't anywhere near built up and was absolutely out of character.
Please tell me y’all are gonna cover House of the Dragon too…stumbled into this channel and watching you react having already seen it myself is both hilarious shit and really entertaining. 👌🏻
It literally was always in her. The right scenario had to bring it out... not saying it's right at all what she did, it wasn't. But she lost everyone. Jorah, missande, 2 dragons, armies, tyrion betrayed her, Jon kinda betrayed her in her eyes. Cersi has cost her so much as well. And when she sitting up there, she felt everything that has ever happened to her and her family, she was like f it, im finna make this bih and everyone pay. She lost it.. Jon also isn't brought up with incest but her family was. So its definitely weird for jon.
And so many people justifying Dany for this, like women, elderly and small children deserved this. That's only good thing about season 8, exposing some people.
After what Dany experienced in the last few weeks, how could she not go mad? Losing two of her dragons, learning she wasn't the rightful heir, Jorah Mormont dying to save her, Missy getting executed, Varys betraying her and Jon stepping back from a relationship with his aunt and always being a threat to her future reign. She snapped. The genetics of the Mad King and her insane brother all crashing at the same time.

How do they give him whispers 😮
The show watered him down a lot. I love the show version regardless, but the book version is a darker and deadlier person.
@@NightWolfNym Taking away his main motivation kills the character because in the early seasons hes still got the character from the books then later on he becomes the virtue signaling do gooder which clashes directly with his earlier self in every way
@@DavidCarradinesBelt I feel like they were more focused on creating someone opposite to Littlefinger. The show cut so much from the books that ruined a lot of storylines imo. Beric's show purpose was kinda silly and they completely ruined Euron by making him act so goofy.
the Hound was scared of fire cause his brother pushed him into fire as kids. and now the Hound returned the favour.
If only Varys had set Lord Eddard Stark an honorable man free like he did Tyrion .
He was still playing for team Blackfyre, he didn't get the memo that wouldn't be a thing in the show.
Unfortunately Ned's honor and love for his kids would have had him refuse the escape plan . Let's not forget his lack of understanding of the full situation and rush into action is what ultimately lead to his demise . He didn't trust Little Finger but yet still allowed that prick to manipulate him into being arrested .
After he learned about Cersei and Jaime, he full on confronted and threatened Cersei , the queen of the 7 kingdoms (Robert was still alive at the time) instead of blindsiding her . His carelessness lead to the demise of his family . I love Ned but it's true, he was extremely unfocused , careless and too emotionally invested during the entire investigation of lord Arryn's death and he didn't even get the real murderer !!
Ya but if he did, the show wouldn't have that freak out of having the main character killed in the first season.
Jamie freed Tyrion.... and threatened Varys to assist. 😊
He wasn't supposed to die. It was joffrey's b**** ass who killed him
As many times Tyrion has snuck in and out of the castle, I’ll never understand why they didn’t sneak a group of men inside.
Because the show has horrible writing when it doesn’t follow the books lol
Yea if they had actually stretched this into 2 seasons it wouldve felt more earned and realistic, but i cant excuse jamie just happening to run into euron at that little cove
@@dlangley49 And Daney should’ve learned her lesson after Mareen turned on her for killing that one guy.
They were ready to make some star wars movies and said F it
@ let’s just hope HBO won’t pull the plug on House of the Dragon too early. GOT was probably their most highly rated show before dropping them.
Varys and that lil girl tried to poison her.. she warned him in 7-2 if he ever betrayed her, she'll burn him alive
Yup.
She betrayed him too because she said to go to her if he disagrees and she would listen. He did and she ignored him.
@monlovchel I agree with that as well
Remember Danerys said Cersi uses her mercy against her.
Team Danny all day
"She has to has something up her sleeve." Yeah..rocks.
Back in season 2.. Davos was pretty clear, the bells have never meant surrender.. Varys knew this too when he helped Tyrion escape s6.

@@drsavage3262 just like everyone else. She just seems to be held to a higher standard
Exactly!! It’s the Targaryen way lol
The hound was a bastard? When is this mentioned?
I’m wearing my green hoodie with the hood up for this one. This series has been so much fun with you guys.
Tyrion is so full of bad ideas this season it's like a completely different character 😅
ps: OMG i just noticed that it was north men who followed grey worm after he threw the first blow 33:56 , they probably hate the Lannisters and all southerners more than the Dothraki and the Unsullied combined at this point
honestly if i had a Missandei and they take her from me I'll do exactly the same
@97 Til If she had followed her mind and listen to Lady Olenna and be a dragon she would have already conquered Kings Landing.
But the people didn‘t kill her dragon and missandei
She was crazy from the beginning. You can see it early on. It just progressively got worse over time.
she showed it towards the beginning when they got to Qarth, the greatest city that ever was and ever will be. her whole character is a walking mesiah complex with an obsession for a throne that literally never belonged to her. i believe it was even tyrion that questioned her on staying on the other side since she was doing so much good there, but she wanted to leave purely out of selfish desire
They picked up on it
@KatBee00 okay I didn't know
Dany wasnt a tyrant, the writers tried to make her out that way. The whole “going mad trope” was so out of character for dany it’s not even funny, and people who say it isn’t, don’t know her character
"Going mad" is by definition out of character for anyone, Dany included.

Omg we're almost at the end! Whos gonna say 'arry' in that damn tone anymore?! 😢
When vanars came to dany all she asked was that he talk to her about any issues or doubts he has about her ruling before going behind her back.
It was literally the only thing she asked and he didn’t do it.
But he did. Last episode he literally said „I’m telling you now to your face you‘re making a mistake“
@ what was her mistake? Why are they expecting her to be nice with Saoirse and Kings Landing?
They would have no problem with a male ruler, coming in and taking charge and having some aggression
Think about the battle of Black water

Jorah giving his life to save his queen only for her to turn into her father is tragic 💔
@NightWolfNym yeah silly her thinking, helping the Northerners save the North and Winterfell would have made them appreciate her, but instead they resented her Jon started acting weird and Sansa poisoned the minds of many of the Northern people against her

Tyrion and Jaime's goodbye, while heartbreaking, is the only thing I don't hate about this episode.

Thats good and all but thats not what the show was about, it was dragon lady bad, dragons and tits, no more no less
This
She locked her dragons in the dungeon for burning one innocent child then burned thousands of them herself.
She is a conqueror, not a tyrant
This season was so bad Dany had to burn it all down ☠️
Tbf, I enjoyed watching Kings Landing burn (as it is one of the only times we see the Dragon cause proper damage😂) sucks for the 'innocents' i guess, but people do take this too seriously, imo. But it makes sense for her to do this, as she is still dealing with the grief and anger of losing Rhaegal and Missandei, Jorah etc.
And the fact that she feels betrayed by everyone around her (except Greyworm).
You know, people criticize Dany but if you had a dragon at your back you wouldn't put up with any sh!t either.

Exactly
they definaltey had seen it or heard about the ending. the one on the left was hating on Dany by season 5 with no reason to. he knew already the ending by other Dany haters just accepting her change by dumb and dumber without questioning it.

She treated Jamie like a piece of meat...her favorite piece of meat. And don't get me started on Jamie. It was like they softened him up for the love of his sister and f**k the world? Nah fam...

It was normal in Westeros to marry with cousins. Even Tywin was married to his cousin…
And so many people justifying Dany for this, like women, elderly and small children deserved this. That's only good thing about season 8, exposing some people.
Dany stans can cry. She was a tyrant and Jon is the rightful heir to the throne.
But how was she not the rightful heir when their family lost the throne? She literally took it back, not Jon.
Yeah, stop making excuses for her. And Dany had been going mad for a while, it wasn't sudden. The show was showing her slowly losing her mind and her dragon and missandei were the last straw.
