That's a long time to wait for just one seed, Steve. I'd be sowing the whole packet!

I'm definitely up for this challenge. Now, what to grow, that is the question???

Radishes, you may laugh, but I have never been able to successfully grow a buch of radish, they're either eaten by slugs or don't develop thick roots. The challenge has given me pause and I think i will sow several in individual pots under different conditions and see which ones are the best and what's going wrong with the others.
Thank for telling us about the single seed challenge 🌱.

Scott is great, and he is one of the few that gardens in a climate similar to mine.

I have never seen Gardener Scott get a crop from anything that he grows. Happy to be shown otherwise.

Challenges aren’t the same as competitions. But I suppose competitions can be challenges. Hmmm… 😄😄 I never enter competitions but I love a challenge so I learn more.

Scott Head was the first gardening TH-cam channel I followed and still do. It's a great channel for people growing in a garden.

Hi Steve I grew echium about 8-10yrs ago and it was amazing I grew the blue one which was about the only colour you could get then. It attracted so many bees I loved it but unfortunately the rest of my neighbours and family hated it because they were scardy cats of the bees. They drop thousands of seeds and I'm still potting them up now. The main tap root goes down along way so you can't transplant they just keel over. Enjoy your plants but beware it does become a weed lol 😂

I follow them already for a long time. I'd love to try cardoon, just to eat, I'm told it's delicious... no chance in my little patch. Eli, I love Gazania, but we need lots of sun to appreciate it.
Blowing my own trumpet now... My 3 purple sprouting broccolis' have put out their first treasures, not quite long enough to harvest yet, maybe in a few days. There are lots of side heads too. I think I may defrost a Dover sole to have with them... Sometimes, after months of waiting, it all comes together.

One of my fellow allotmentiers grows Echium, a beautiful plant, we are near Brighton on the South Coast, despite him protecting them with hessian it looks like the winter may have killed the off, hopefully they will come back again because they really are something else!

Looking forward to seeing your results Steve, good luck. This may be a daft question, but I've always fancied growing mango and avocado seeds, so you think they are eligible for this challenge?
