New subscriber here. Your content is so refreshing. I enjoyed this video very much. You have to do a part 2 featuring dad, so he can also tell his story and then afterwards, you can do a part 3 with both mom and dad to have them talk about their lives together, ie how they met and so on.
I enjoyed the interview. Your mother is beautiful. Thanks for sharing part of her journey with us. It takes courage to do what she did - embraced a new culture with great appreciation.

Hello, Gloria! Like your mom I was born in Soviet Union and am the same age. My mother tongue is Russian, too but I used to live far from the Ukrainien Republik (the ex-Republik of Soviet Union) It's hard to get new customs and traditions and your mom is great. Be healthy, wealthy and happy:)
God bless you & your mum. You remind me of lady & her Russian & Ugandan daughter whom I had taught religious education studies in Zambia 🇿🇲 in 1981. @@ebb_ There were lots of reports on racism when the recent Russia-Ukraine war first broke out. It was widely reported that there were a lot of discrimination against Africans who were schooling there. They were really heartbreaking. So, I just assumed that Ukranians were racists, but seeing the demeanour of this woman made me rethink.
