Engine sounds great, good work you guys! Oil leaking from the crank pulley concerns me on a fresh rebuild like that. A sand seal is not the answer. The builder needs to split the case back apart and check the case and bearings.
Yeah we still haven’t figured it out yet… went back 2 the builder think we got one leak fixed he put some miles on it no leaks, Trav put some miles on it no leaks then drove home on the freeway and oil everywhere! But doesn’t seem do be the same location. Hopefully we figure it out and is something simple….. I’m with you and had the concern that the case would need to be split….
Nice will have to check them out! Thanks for the tip! Are they super solid or have some give? Some of the more solid mount seem to vibrate quite a bit.
@@mileageunknown8910 They are very strong, better than stock rubber ones or the red urathane mounts. They can withstand the extra force that a bigger motor exerts on them.
Hey man, Kevin here from Australia. With your accelerator cable Vintage Speed have one heavy duty . Have a look at it its worth the $. With your oil lines i used a heat sleeve fire jacket good for 1100 Celsius . Some sort of fibre glass stuff. Anyhoo you get them on Ebay. But hey don't those carbies sound good. You can't beat the sound of dual carbs. So stay safe and healthy guys. ✌ Peace
Nice night have to check out the vintage speed cables! Idk why the heat sleeves we put on are rated 2 Trav picked those ones up. The car sounds so good in person I need to get a mic that really pics up the engine sounds! Thanks for the support!
@@mileageunknown8910 i went with putting my oil lines in the heat sleeve because apart from going through the exhaust they get road heat and lets face it these days with shit parts out there you have to over kill all your work. Owe and a awesome job on bleeding the oil system. ✌
Really like how you taped the cracks for the airflow. Great idea. The motor looks great with that Gene Berg linkage. Most of the time you need to install motors without the dual carbs. Is there space in one of the rear wheel wells? I believe blocking one of the side air intakes with the oil filter is not such a good idea. Motor sounds nice. What are the symptoms of broken rear trans mounts?
We looked everywhere for a spot for the oil filter, we ended up mounting it on the air box that fits into the vents so it should affect the airflow that I can tell….. yeah when Trav said we can get it in without pulling the carbs I laughed! But humored him and tried anyway…. On the mounts you could feel it the engine was lifting on one side so everything felt a bit off.
Nice hat!
I’ve got a few for sale if you click my eBay link in the vid description!
Thanks to you for sharing this with us😄
Thanks for checking it out!

Travis watch your feet.. Wade tends to drop engines on peoples feet.. lol
Hahahaha I’ve never dropped an engine on anyone’s feet!
is that the motor from Pops oval? Sounds really good!!
Yeah it’s kind of a combo the… base pops internals, heads, carbs & linkage but the case was the og engine case that came with speedy
