Thanks Jeremy, so the EK-50L does not make sense, also here in Germany(599€). So I want to buy a new Keyboard, 10 years ago I played Keyboard on an old Casio keyboard :-). So here in Germany I have 3 favorites for me: Korg EK-50(300€), Casio CT-X5000(370€) or Korg i3(570€). So what do you think? What is the best also related to the price?
Servus Patrick. I just bought last week the EK-50. If you are willing to spend a little bit more money, I recommend to buy the Casio CT-X5000. Casio has much more Styles Especially Modern Styles and more Instruments resp. more Instrument variations. In Germany we say "Die Sounds des EK-50 klingen etwas altbacken" :-) For Fairness I have to say I bought it for 280 Euros incl. Shipping and I am a Beginner. For that price it is quite ok. But I miss the modern stiles. Even the Yamaha PSRe 463 which is older than the Korg EK-50, has better/more modern Styles the EK-50. Even the Build Quality is not really outstanding. It is not the expected Kork-Quality. It is ok, but that’s it. And the Plastic is also ok, but not superior quality. My sisters old Yamaha PSR 200 is really well build. Good Plastic Quality in comparison to the EK-50. What I really like on the EK-50 is the Key Bed. The keys feel really good and the pressure point is really well made. I like this. I also like the easy operating and the knobs of the EK-50. You can instantly start playing and choose the different layers or Styles or whatever. That was my focus and why I choose the EK 50. And it works pretty fine with my DAW (Samplitude Music Studio 2019). I was close to buy the Yamaha PSRe 463 but the Yamaha has no Modulation wheel. Korg has this nice Joystick which has the Modulation and Pitch Function. Whatever, the Casio CT-X5000 don't have to hide behind the Korg EK-50. With the Casio you will get more features for your money and I think it is worth it.

I decided on purchasing the EK-50L, based on the info provided on an email from Korg support stating that "the Korg software bundle does not come with the standard EK50.". For me the included software was the tipping point between the EK-50 vs EK-50L. I wonder if i didn't really needed the EK-50L to get the bundle. Keep up the great work, your channel rocks!!!

Hi Jeremy... I have just started learning piano on basic Yamaha $100 keyboard. Now that I am a little comfortable playing songs I would like to buy a keyboard that can allow me to change prelude and interludes in the middle of song with press of a single button. I see some of the high range professional workstations provide 16 instruments feed to preset. Does this EK50/L comes with similar settings? I don’t want to spend 1000s of $ to buy one since I am not there yet and might take 2-3 yrs to play at 16x speed 😊. Also does this comes with Indian instruments? Sorry about this long questionnaire. In the EU it's a €224 difference (58%), the EK-50L is closer to a workstation like the Kross 2 or Juno DS than it is to the original EK-50 pricewise. Kinda crazy.

Another interesting review Jeremy. I'm just intruding because of my interests in speaker system design (as you've heard at other times). There's no inherent difficulty in re-engineering a speaker to obtain greater efficiency (more powerful sound), but it's impossible to achieve good, extended, powerful bass without going to heavy speaker magnets, and a solid and weighty enclosure that's impossible in a keyboard console (at least without becoming impractically heavy and probably inconveniently bulky). This explains the problem you found with the bass end at high volumes. Yamaha get around the issue in keyboards like the PSR-SX900 (OK, an entirely different market) by having reduced lower bass at higher volumes, although as one comment mentions, for higher volumes, you really need external speakers (powered or whatever). It's possible (but I'm guessing) Yamaha might achieve warmth in the bass at lower volumes by employing 'loudness circuitry' (starting with a frequency response curve which the speakers can handle essentially at full volume, but boosts bass at quieter volumes for a satisfying sound - without going into boring detail [which I've probably done anyway!]).

you must try the keys - its individual, they are totaly different in this models. I prefferd Casio. CT-X800 have an AiX processor and its awesome. But if you want a good and loud speakers (if you dont want to use an extendet audio systems) you must watch at CT-X3000/5000. CT-X3000 can work on batteries.
Go & order the Casio CTX-9000IN, Bro. Buy direct from Casio Agent in your country. Cheap & very good product with plenty of Indian Sounds & Rhythms. Powerful 15Watts + 15Watts stereo sound system! It's a dream come true.
Improved audio ????? Perhaps had they have changed the sound direction ... As Yamaha have introduced on the SX ...then ok... But they are still player/monitor positioned, so hardly better...a decent compact external system would be FAR better in any gig. STYLE MANAGER ....end of!!!! That's the ONLY thing which was needed...or even if Korg had the decency to make a set available AT COST they would sell well for them and keep us EK owners happy and satisfied.... I am really disappointed and won't be considering an upgrade...Big let down!!! After such s fantastic first model... Keith

The prices of pa 300 is around 599-799 dollar or more or less depending on where you live. I dont know how you found pa300 with 929 dollar

The Ek-50 series main problem due to users in Korg forum and other fora is Hanging Notes.Jeremy, do u have heard this yourself?
