the creators of Arcane said they specifically chose twenty one pilots to write a song for a particular scene because they love tyler's songwriting so much and that he finished the song in 3 days! so sweet that he dedicated to his grandmother who recently passed away.
Tyler did an interview before this song was released that said this was about his grandmother who just recently passed, but it also fits within the story of the show
Viktor and Jayce were never romantically involved in the original lore, alternate timelines, and this new Arcane Canon. Even in an interview with Necrit, Arcane co-creator Christian Ling didn't understand. How people didn't understand that men or women could just be best friends like brothers or sisters.
