    I would get rid of the decomp valve that will add some compression and they tend to fail after a bit of use and its not like they need it anyway

      I’ve deleted them before - probably will at some point with this one as well.

      Thanks - yes, they’re nice strong runners with a little bit of work. Lots of options for setting them up, especially if you have access to a lathe.

      @redbeardsaws - he’s on Facebook or go to redbeardsaws.com. Great guy to buy from - all the adapters are 3-D printed, but good quality and fit. I buy my own filters, but he’s got ones that work with all the adapters he sells.

    Where did you get the full wrap handle?

      It was from a retail seller on eBay - but it’s been about 4 years or so since I purchased it and they’re no longer available. I rarely see them come up for sale used, too…

      Yes it is - with a couple of strokes off the depth gauges it really packs a punch! Had it in some black oak in the last week and it tore through it.

    Добрый день! У меня 365. Хотел бы добиться такой чистой работы на холостых оборотах, с таким же четким звуком. Пока не получается. Не знаю, возможно ли это в принципе.

      You would have to modify a number of things on the saw to get close to the exhaust note, but it is possible. There are many forum sites that have great suggestions for possible modifications. Trial and error works, too.

      Sweet. I put a new top end, new Zama carburetor, replaced the boot. Just wanting to know the max RPM . Just making sure not to blow up my saw

      @@mryazzie5408 specs from Husqvarna show it can max out at 13.5K in stock form - I’m leaving a little on the table for now until the ring seats.

    I’ve never been a fan of porting. Why? It must obviously shorten the work life of even a pro saw. If I am incorrect then why wouldn’t Husqvarna, Stihl Echo already make pre-ported saws.? If time is money and these saws had a higher RPM and HP curve then one would logically assume that the major manufacturers would port saws, but they don’t. You don’t build NASCAR engines to last. You build them to go crazy for a few races then that’s it. I think you can tune your carb a hair better, maybe add another muffler port, but even that takes life off the saw. I don’t pretend to have empirical data on this, but the logic seems sound. What do you all think?

    • @elevationaxesaw5136
      @elevationaxesaw5136  ปีที่แล้ว

      First, it comes down to simple economics for the manufacturers, as well as air quality and fuel efficiency standards for the US market. Not everyone wants (or needs) a ported saw, but for those of us that like to have the best product in our hands, this is a way to squeeze some additional power out of the saw, and potentially increase its longevity (through increasing flow into and out of the saw). It’s not for everyone, and you need to know how to keep your chain sharp, use good gas, and know when/if something starts to go haywire with the tune. None of my saws will be used day-in/day-out for production, but let me have more fun when I am out cutting.
