Agreed. I stick those two things along with an armor and weapon workbench by the arrival point rug in every settlement.

Huh. Never knew the water fountain was a thing. The "manual" water pump can heal your health just like the water fountain does too.
On Survival, you can use the water fountain to fill bottles to create purified water.
The hand Water Pump adds to the settlement supply of water each day. The Water Fountain does NOT.
Once activated, the hand Water Pump keeps pumping until you stop it. The Water Fountain requires an activation for each sip.
You cannot put a hand Water Pump in Home Plate. You CAN put a Water Fountain in Home Plate.
The fountain is nice for a survival run. Thanks for sharing the decon arch idea! But…. For regular play, nothing beats one hour in a bed. You’re fully healed AND you get the well rested bonus. Plop one of those next to your arch!

I always build the decontamination arch as soon as I can because of just how much I save on radaway. I'd never thought of building the drinking fountain, although I usually use the drive through as the spot for my main settlement and I just drink the water there and then decontaminate, I don't quite get to 100% health, but close enough.
Yeah, I come up one point short of full health, but I can live with that.

I just started a fresh survival and could build the water fountain at the start. Didn't have the materials for the decontamination arch but it was shown in build menu, pretty sure you can also build it at the beginning.
Both are from DLCs, Fountain is Vault-Tec Workshop add-on and the Decontamination Arch is from the Wasteland Workshop add-on
