Hi, the creator of the mod here. In the current beta version SS breaks the corrupt tarr largos (And I am not quite sure why). If you want to see them the SS for the slime it eats has to be off.
The blue slime being "retro" is likely a reference to the old NES game Dragon Warrior/Quest. The first enemies you encounter in this game are small blue teardrop monsters called Slimes which became one of the more iconic monsters of the series. The original Dragon Warrior game was one of the first 10 games to be released in the US and is the first of the modern JRPGs. It inspired the Final Fantasy series.
Pro tip 1. If you run in circles around a tarr about 7 to 10 times it will stop moving for a little bit giving you time to escape (this also works in slime rancher 2 ) Pro tip 2. You will get more glitch slimes out of objects than the ditto slimes (you can also get glitch slimes by shooting the glitch tarr with debug spray if they have eaten any)

There is a secret area in bug snacks it is behind the ship in boiling Bay. This is how you get to it you use a Launchpad to launch you on top of the ship and then behind it you will see the entrance. there will be 10 tapes for you to listen to and a secret bug snack

I have a theory. I think the corrupted tarr largos disappear when they are too close to another slime.
They disappear likely from hunger, water also kills them as shown
