Man, this song takes me back in my middle school years...I was the only black kid listening to rock 😆 but nonetheless, I had good days and memories, and I never regret it
I started singing it out loud in my kitchen, i couldn't finish it and started wiping my eyes and now I'm here 🥰 lol crying over reliant k with my bottle of wine in my 30s. Guess it's that kind of night.
This song is so mood . I love the whole album really bc the songs can be about God and depression and can get you thru so much but they can also relate to everyday life
I’m 33 now. I knew about this band when I went through my emo phases but bands like the used and and taking back Sunday over shadowed them for me. Years later after opening my heart to Christ this band hits way different. They deserve so much more recognition not just for their message, but their music is great. 🎶
I'm of the mindset that making songs that relate to God and religion don't have to always say god, jesus, lord, hallelujah and all the things that to me dampen the message.
@@felixuy87 To me I believe that the message is the most important but the soulful music styles give musical people some feelings to embrace the message with also.
About 10years ago, when I didn't study English at all, I listened this song and only melody I memorized. Since then I have searched this song and now! I found!! Special thanks to Google music search. I've never thought I could find only by humming melody.
Consider this comment as a Time capsule. I'm currently 16, I'm in 10th grade, I've been single my whole life (which is fine) I love anime & blasting music 24/7. My favorite songs are Dirty Little Secret (All American Idiots) Mr. brightside (The Killers) and this song of course.
They did a podcast a couple years ago about all the unique elements of this song that made it such a hit. It's also one of the only rock songs to feature a coda.
Is all of their music this good? This is the only song I know but I have loved it for so long! Idk why I’ve never bothered to explore their other material.
Found a folder i had from when i was 15 that had a bunch of different song lyrics in it, came across this song and had to listen to it, i cant remeber the last time i heard but i printed the lyrics to it in 2006.
Christ hits through His Holy Spirit each days to call people to salvation. Amen. Jesus calls a person to be saved and if you just repent and trust on Him YOU WILL BE saved from hell! AMEN!
I hate the fact that there's people pirating this song and getting millions of views whilst the original upload and content owners don't even have a 100K.
Christ is the head of the salvation and He provides. He provides just everything; from a wholesome, biblical and romantic [those two can verily be reconciled] relationship to the foods we eat! AMEN!
I dunno how I never found this before! I've loved Relient K for years, "Be My Escape" was one of the first songs I learned to play on piano (I changed guitar music for the most part, but the last part, I managed to pick out by ear :) ) and I've sang this for myself for so long, I'm so proud of the group for putting out this kicking track. :) Completely unrelated, I kinda see the lead singer as Frodo Baggins and Sam Gamgee's lovechild. Please don't crush my soul, guys, it was more of a compliment in my head than on the page hahaha
I wonder if Matt Theissen and Matt Hoopes have some signature guitars? Even thought I’m a Metal Head and like a variety of music including Punk Pop and Death Metal’s my favorite music of all time and my 1st 3 bands will be Christian Death Metal Bands the first Living Cadavers which will be my Brutal Slamming Christian Death Metal Band where I’ll be singing and playing guitar in, Half Eaten By Insects my Brutal Technical Christian Death Metal Band where I’ll be singing and playing bass in and Joyful Evisceration my Christian Melodic Death Metal Band where I’ll be singing and playing keyboard in I hope to get a signature guitar from both of them if possible.

Funny that this is a Christian song about god but all us emo kids were listening to it back in 2006
I was listening to it in 2012.

Alleluyah! Praised be you, o Jesus! Amen forever!
That's because Christ is the Lord! Amen, and come to Him all you weary and heavy-burdened and He will give you REST.
@jarnojaaskelainen650 Amen in Jesus name.
These lyrics are my life. Hits so good and so hard.
I will forever remember singing this with my sister and her best friend song at the top of our lungs, in Santa Cruz on the log ride.
Most underrated pop punk band of all time

Not all of it. It ranges from cringe to masterpieces
Can't deny their true skill of writing an amazing pop song. They dont get the credit they deserve
One of their best songs and mmhmm their best album for me! Sorry for my poor English! I'm from Barcelona, Spain! 🤣🤣🤣
Broooo i miss this song Core childhood memories! It used to be played either at the end or a beginning of a particular Christian show.

Frodo needs an escape from the "Eye" of Satan; Frodo needs to cast the Federal Reserve Bank into the Fire and destroy the Ring of the NWO.
This song is so underrated. I just fucking love this song!

Nice, didn't know Eric Forman is in a rock band
Oh man, this takes me back...

Is there a reason the band name isn't even in the video title? Or in the description?

I'm not Christian but I love that the 'you' in the song is god/jesus/whatever. Much more annoying when they're talking about women.
