@@ticklefritz5406 I think you are missing the point of adventure. He pedalled down the mountain too. Have you never set off on a unknown ride , carried your bike, found a path few , if any have ridden? That is where the mountain bike prevails.
I live in the alps and sometimes hiking around in the mountains you have to cross slabs like this one, but then you wear proper hiking boots. Anyone who has never stood on one of these slabs cannot really understand how gnarly it is in the wet. If you fall, there is nothing you can hold onto, and if you build up momentum, it goes down with you all the way to the bottom. Hiking up this thing in sneakers is mental. Love it!
Finally! This is the sort of content i've been missing in mtb! The kind that gives me a sense og adventure, the awesome drone footage, and the story behind. There are a few backcountry skiing channels that are like this, but mtb is very little. Espessially now with a broken neck after an mtb crash, not being able to ride for a while. This makes me even more keen to get back to riding as soon as possible. Keep it up!
@@scottgilchrist5659 that sucks mate! I wish for a speedy recovery to you as well! i like espescially Nikolai Schirmer. Hes got the most awesome content that gives you a real sense of adventure and awesome shots from both drone and gopro plus the backstory behind each climb/project. Hes also skiing most of his videos in Norway, which is where i live :)
I live 30 minutes from this place and this adventure is really unbelievable. I never thought that someone would ride down this rock. You are really crazy - in a positive way 🙂
Now THAT is my kind of adventure. Love that randomness of the idea, the determination to research whether it’s actually possible and then the realisation of all of it! Epic stuff! 👊😎
The only thing I saw on this video that I might attempt is the bicycle carry position he used while hiking up. The fog was beautiful, even if it limited your shots. Wonderful video
I really enjoyed this video for the journey. Huge respect for the climb but I really think you should have written the day off and gone back in the perfect conditions with a crew. It's such an epic location. Someone's definitely going to steal your idea. Amazing place to find.
For everybody interested: That slab is situated about 3km northwest from the swiss village Mesocco in Graubünden. Rifugio Pian Grand is the nearest point of civilization. ;)
Loved this! More people need to show their failures. Not that this was a failure at all, but just that you didn’t quite accomplish what you wanted, and that’s fine. That’s life. What an adventure though.
You know what Bren, it may not have been a total success but what an incredible adventure and resultant video, had me hooked from start to finish. I would watch more like this without hesitation. 10/10
You are both absolutely 💯 pure grit and determination. Though how you keep composure when the bike shows you what might happen if you slip, is quite honestly steely. I take my hat off to you both. Stay on the edge, stay safe!! If you're up in Aosta, take a ride down from the top of the The Breuil Cervinia ski slopes, I spent 6 weeks up there camping and doing a geology thesis. The terrain around Plan Maison must be worth a go. 👍
The best part of this is that the boys literally have the means to organise this way better, with a helo drop, on a nice day….but they just went ham and low budget and it was CLASS. That and the moment where Brendog whispered “this is shit” 🤣🤣👌😎
Dude, you need some sponsors so you could attempt another ride from the top of the slab down to the loamy bit you were riding when you were descending.
bReney! Omg you 2 are like the sherpa guy who ran up and down Everest in trainers Making it look easy, mountaineers would have planned that meticulously Love the drone and the music, the vibe the ride…..you rock chaps Be SAFE but respect 👏
Beney is looking healthier than ever honestly, as a podgey guy myself i can say dude was a bit of a podge when you first employed him but guy's doing great!
Insane dude. I think Beney is still shaking when he's filming you in the car 🤣 I don't know who's the biggest nutter, you for wanting to do it or Beney for bloody following you up. 👊😎🤘
Well sick, thats crazy!
Hi Sam, have an epic day my guy
Sam u also crazy rider 💪💪
Hey Sam, was today EPIC?
I will consider myself heart broken if you don’t ride this one day Sam.
This embodies the true spirit of mountain biking, where adventure prevails and the outcome is initially unknown. Awesome video
Ya what he said but with less words
I haven't done my research, but I'd say to be in the "true spirit" of mountain biking, there would need to be at least one pedal stroke.
@@ticklefritz5406 I think you are missing the point of adventure. He pedalled down the mountain too. Have you never set off on a unknown ride , carried your bike, found a path few , if any have ridden? That is where the mountain bike prevails.
No , this embodies the true spirit of mental illness . 😂

He carried his bike up there... HE CARRIED IT!!!
....
That's work for content legit to be paid for a lot. Great passion. Down to earth. Love it.
That's true mountain biking. Getting up and down a mountain using only yourself. Proper.

@@harryv6752 thanks alot mate! Its been 3 weeks ago, so still some ways to go. Slowly but surely getting better :)
What backcountry skiing channels do you like? Also - I hope for a speedy recovery, I smashed my collarbone and bruised my brain biking back in May!

I think I am most impressed by that hike up... holy bonkers!!! This is commitment to the shot - unbelievable respect to you both!
Absolutely edge of my seat. Breathtaking video. RIGHT ON!
That drone shot of you riding the slab was gnarly🔥🔥🔥🔥
Its not about the destination, its all about the journey.

Other way in my opinion

Mannnnnnnn really so INSPIRING DUDE!!!! Seriously unbelievable
What a mad man. Who the hell see's a huge slab on the side of a mountain and thinks to themselves 'that'd make a sick line'. Crazy!
Love mtb vids like this, that slab was awesome .. props to you both for the climb 👏 mission success
drone shot coming down slab with mist lifting was awesome , and the daunting sound of the brakes. so worth it.... Tune
