I had the same notion!! The side-by-side examples really help in visualizing how the different angles work for the same subject! Thanks for watching, Stephanie! 🥰
@@replicasurfaces the 45° angle is going to be a go-to for me but I'm hoping to perfect the flatlay. I'm new to product photography, but its necessary for my new business so I'm subscribed to this channel and the group😇😇
The coconut smoothie bowl look soooooo good, but can totally see how you lose detail shooting eye level and overhead, 45 degree was perfect for it! Great tips as always, thanks Mandy!
Right!! I totally felt that viewing all three angles side-by-side showed what a difference your chosen angles can make depending on what you are photographing!!
@@replicasurfaces I love that you show all three angles so we can see how they work or don't work in each setting. I am always shooting a very tall object (wine bottle) so I struggle to create unique shots... they all look the same but the depth ideas and background styling is really helpful!
I really appreciate the links to the other videos - the bite size length of these is great (especially when I'm not feeling up to taking in a ton of new information), but the plugs to let us know where related content is if we want to dive deeper are fantastic!
We're all about creating as much content as possible! Especially when it's as easy as flipping a cookie and switching angles! 🙌 Thanks for watching, Abbey!
dang it I missed the premiere! But I love this topic. I learned about angles the HARD way! Thanks Mandy!!!! I will say I found that overhead is my workhouse cause I'm lazy
I learned the hard way too!! Lots of wonky horizons when attempting 45-degree shots! 🤦♀️ Thank you so much for watching and showing some love!! 💖 We'll see you next week! 😎
Lovely work. Lovely Channel, Its nice to share your thoughts and works out here. Looking out for different angles in product Photography and I guess I have learnt something today.
Thank you for the angle tips, I love the tips about elevating the products and rotating a product so you can take photos from multiple angles and have more content.
We've got one in the works!! We'll keep you updated, make sure you have notifications for our channel turned on so you're notified when we release any jewelry videos! 🥰
Jill!!! Thank you SO much! I am so glad you are loving the videos and I can't shower the VIP Group with enough praise. You guys are a truly marvelous group of people! 🥰💖
Even though I am familiar with these 3 angles for food photography, it is really great how you explained how to choose which angle to use in certain situation. Thanks Mandy!
I am so glad the explanations are easy to follow! Angles can be tricky! Thank you for watching and showing this video alllll the love, Nataša 🥰💖 You are so sweet!! 💖
Great simplified tips! While I've figured out these mostly now by trial and error but being put into the words it helps me understand why these work or don't work.
I've been getting comfortable with eye level photos. I'd like to do flat lays too, but I find them really challenging to style. Love a shoot that can do both angles though so I'd like to develop that skill.
Hi Mandy... Thank you for all the wonderful videos and information. Question... Can you make a video regarding how to shoot Jewelry products? Thank You
We've got one in the works!! We'll keep you updated, make sure you have notifications for our channel turned on so you're notified when we release any jewelry videos! 🥰
Mandy, you always give such great tips! It was really helpful to see the comparison between the three angles. I usually do more of the eye level shots but I feel open now to try the 45! THANK YOU.
I love the breakdown of the 3 angles and when to use them. I definitely used to try and do the 45 degree and get both surfaces in because they are awesome but showing the closer shot made much more sense.
I've seen some place two of the same Surfaces side-by-side to create a jumbo L-Shape or you could also use the semi-cube by attaching three Surfaces together with a few Stands to create a "corner" or what we like to call a "semi-cube." We have a demo on how to make a semi-cube on our Instagram!
Your videos are always so helpful. Thank you so much for putting out this content. I definitely need to try flat lay with some of my desserts. Thanks for the tips! - Mey Mey
Mey Mey!! Thank you for watching the content we put out! It absolutely helps us keep the goodness coming! 💖 Do it up, let us know how the flat-lay styling goes! 🙌
Great video! Can't wait till next week to order the "studio". Not having an area to work with in natural light has been holding me back. This will be the perfect solution for my photography needs! Thanks so much!
What are you trying to prop up, Debbie?? That might help me provide a better answer... otherwise, my answer is a little universal because you can use just about anything!! 😂
A quick question: if you are photographing something like a pasta bowl and the bowl is the object of interest, do you suggest 45 degree angle or flat lay?
Hey Leigh!! Thanks for asking your question here too, I didn't want my answer to get lost! I would suggest doing both for the sake of having extra content because I think the overhead angle used in a flat-lay is the classic way to show off a bowl of food as well as show off any special styling or swirls of noodles in a pasta dish for example, but if your subject or food is in a bowl with some textural elements or something that you think may add to your scene (like the texture of the actual coconut bowl in the video), then 45 degrees is the move! I am a huge advocate of creating as much content as you can using one dish to maximize your ability to use that one dish in multiple ways and across channels without feeling like a broken record! 😎
Hey, great question! I highly recommend thee Godox SL60W continuous LED light with a softbox! It provides a solid amount of light and can also be used for video since it is a continuous light! 🙌
