The chalk is for all the people who have gone off the track on certain corners. It also served as a way to mourn those who have lost their lives on certain parts of the track.
I think it's not graffiti, it's chalk. In the nights before 24h races there's a party on the track and there is also a big rock festival directly on the track - So fans who want to just leave their comments or paintings and since it doesn't seem to reduce grip, it's not that big of a deal in the eye of Nürburgring-officials.

This person on a zx10 was slower than another person in a vette. The people involved are a massive part of it, particularly on a bike. Others have ridden bikes significantly faster on the ring. This isn't even this riders fastest lap. Impressive none the less.

Mich würden mal echte Fakten interessieren,warum man es 20 Jahre später auf ner Verkehr- und Ölfreien NOS nicht schafft die Zeit von Hr Dähne deutlich zu unterbieten.Ich fahr ne 04er ZX10R und bin die 11er in Hockenheim probegefahren.Ich hätte gesagt,daß sie durch ihre spielerische Handlichkeit und ihrer,dank elektronischen Helferlein,top umsetzbaren Leistung wie prädestiniert für ne Hammerzeit auf der NOS wäre. PS:ne Speed-Overlay wäre interessant gewesen
