Nice review. Thanks. I like the inserts you got of Gretzky specifically. I've never mixed up Hejduk and Handzus before (Not sure why I would lol) . Was this something you have seen people mix up previously? Thanks again as I'm considering buying a box just for a fun rip. I'm not a big fan of MVP cards overall, but the original set from this year is pretty cool. Thanks. Keep smiling.
These cards take me right back to being a kid, when I used to save my allowance to be able to buy a handful of packs. I'm also really happy that after all this time, they're still making MVP an affordable product to get the kids into the hobby. Thanks for the hit of nostalgia! #DRYDEN
Nice to see MVP in its first year! I think the most awesomely/horribly foily set of cards ever created must be Fleer Metal Universe 1996-97. There's foily stuff over and under the players, planets, explosions and destroyed walls. And the back looks like it's for a Star Trek trading cards game. It's amazing.
That's hilarious. I'll try to find a box! Fleer Showcase still has Metal Universe cards. In the box I bought my nephew, he hit a Metal Universe Matthews RC. I have a couple of pretty ugly 1990s/2000 boxes to break. The issue with 1990s cards is there are so many base cards, including doubles, that it's not really a break. It's like... reading a 30min chapter of a book.
@@Fultoncards Oh wow, now I actually want to get some newer Metal Universe cards! I loved them so much as a kid even though they're... different. And yeah, it's crazy to think you could get triples in one box back then. No wonder why nobody (sadly?) wants these cards anymore now, there must be a billion of them, if they haven't been discarded of yet! Edit: Oh God, I just took a look at some of my Metal Universe cards. Jim Carey (now that's a blast from the past!) actually had some kind of laser add-on on his mask. And it's actually shooting lasers. And the background looks like he's in... plasma? Who knows. It's amazing all over the place.
#DRYDEN I only bought spare packs when I was a kid. I just bought a box of it for the first time and I am going to open it while watching the tradeline on Friday. Great video!
Hey I know I’m late to the party... but you stated that the Ray Bourque in the background was his rookie card. It isn’t. The one you have is his second year.
There were memorabilia cards in this set too! Great break, I really enjoyed this set when it came out. Cheers

Awesome break! I have a decent amount of these in my collection from when I was a kid

Remember the 4 inserts per box is avg over the entire box run. Some boxes will get 5 some 3.

Good luck.

100%. I own most sets going back to the early 1970s. I picked them randomly. They look to all be RCs, other than the Bourque and Gretzky second years.
