Heard this song during a Chevy Super Bowl commercial years ago, I still revisit it every now and again. Her voice is so beautiful. It pulls at the heartstrings.
Great singer, great song, inevitable human experience and response to loss. Without leaving we won't grow though, with leaving, we leave behind the dearest ones.
As a young father of three beautiful children I fear the further. I was recently diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (which is a rapidly growing very illusive cancer in my liver) I had a transplant on Christmas Eve and that has bought me time to battle this now. The song touched me. Thank you Ane Brun and Chevrolet for the commercial.
Reminds me of my mom who passed away from cancer 3 years ago. My teenage life will never be complete without you. Love you mom and can't wait to see you in Heaven.
It is crazy to think of how many of us rushed to our laptops or cell phones to find this song. That at the same time everything stopped and it was just this beautiful song you were paying attention to many more were also stricken with that same feeling :) great song
I see comments like this all the time . Where "laptops" are assumed that everybody has. ..lol Dont anybody use "BigBoy" computers (DESKTOPS, like Me) anymore? sheesh lol .. ***I really cant understand the fad/trend of lil' Lappies ... (people dont know what they're missing, by not using a good Desktop set-up) ! And - sigh, everybody using "wifi" too, .. instead of powerful & speedy (hard-wired) Ethernet ..
After watching the commercial with this song, I found it on here and started looking up other songs and never went back to grown men hugging each other over a ball. Thank you Ane Brun.
Chevy commercial brought me here. Her voice and lyrics stopped my world but for a moment. My marriage ended last year after 20 years together and now I'm watching the Super Bowl without my wife and kids. I learned you can't make somebody Love you no matter how much counseling you go to.
Thank God for the Superbowl! I heard this song and immediately Shazamed it!!! This is an incredibly beautiful song and has instantly shot to the top of my play list!!!!! You find the best music when you're not looking!!!
heard this in a TH-cam ad and by force of habit , skipped after 5 seconds ... then frantically searched the internet for it and I am so pleased this song it AMAZING
I suddenly have a feeling that this video is going to start getting a LOT of hits in the next few days. And it deserves every single one. Just heard the song for the first time and had to look it up. It is truly beautiful.
Absolutely amazing voice. It's good to see her music getting a wider exposure that it might not have gotten otherwise. Her voice deserves to be heard by the masses.
This song was featured in a commercial for what, Chevy trucks?! But like all good commercials, there was a storyline completely aside from the product advertised. Maybe it was subtle, maybe it was overt, but it was unable to be missed that the story was about a couple’s confrontation with the wife’s cancer. And I’ll be damned if I didn’t start crying right then and there, as my wife was also battling cancer too. It caught me off guard, by surprise, and that simple commercial, with that deeply penetrating song, totally got me. So, thank you for that. Some times a hard egg needs to be cracked so it can just let the pressure out like that. Such a beautiful song.
Last year was the Ram truck commercial featuring Paul Havery's "So God Made a Farm". This year is the Chevy commercial featuring this song that I'll still remember as I watch the Super Bowl next year.
Sometimes all the praying/ wishing/ hoping and crying can't change the inevitable, love hard , love deeply but love and you will be love totally.....:-) -_- Wonderful song Ms. Brun
You know the music industry really SUCKS because I have to hear great songs like this on a commercial instead of on the radio. Feist, Sleigh Bells, Aloe Blacc and now this beautiful song would have never been found if someone with a good ear didn't highlight in a commercial.
I Went to the Corner store To buy some Cookies and I Heard this Song on the Tv and I was like omg I gotta find this Song, Oh please dont be in a Movie cause I'll have to find out what the movie is and go through all this Mumbo jumbo to find it.. But it was a COMMERCIAL YAAY :D~! And then duh there were like 15 Men in the store watching tv when this Came On, I Shouldve known it was a Super bowl Commercial, Easiest search ever thank the lord.
+Jared Jones I went to a second hand music shop and I've heard song. I was like "OMG what's this???" I've asked the owner ( must admit he have great taste , old rock 'n' roll men) .. Ane Brun, he answered .... Since than I'm obsessed with :D
Reminds me of movie Closer. My interpretation is that he's insecure & constantly needs reassurance that she'll never leave. I'm guessing she's probably not as emotionally available. But she's saying she never even thought of leaving & is there cuz she wants to be. The more his insecurity surfaces the further it pushes her away. By end of song she's offering her hand as something for him to remember cuz she's already gone now
Beautiful song, wish I would have found it on my own but just to many artist sometimes just have to really on mainstream. Great song,". Lost dad to cancer 2 years ago. I love u

The speaker tells their beloved that trying to hold them back will only harm their relationship, and that they don't plan on leaving them anyway - the speaker LOVES their beloved, and wants their beloved to know that, hence the offered hand that "will do [the speaker's beloved] good" by letting the beloved know the speaker is still there. the video, however, adds a layer on top of that - Ane starts the video dressed in an almost 50's kind of way, but slowly starts to dress her self in less feminine attire, reminiscent of a biker or Rosie the Riveter. Men fall upwards in the background. The video puts the song in the context of a woman who is starting to break out of traditional gender rules and starting to assert herself as an independent person. Her beloved is afraid that this means that she'll leave him, but she asserts that she won't because she loves him.
I guess CHEVY gets it. Keep it SIMPLE. Boy, did this super bowl ad SING !! The very BEST of all the ads today 2.2.14. A married couple fights CANCER together. YEAH !!
Heard this song during a Chevy Super Bowl commercial years ago, I still revisit it every now and again. Her voice is so beautiful. It pulls at the heartstrings.
God this song brings an instant tear to my eye. RIP Mom 2007. Well done Chevy.
Same here
I swear no female singer can soothe ones soul like she does. She can cure depression with that voice!
Great singer, great song, inevitable human experience and response to loss. Without leaving we won't grow though, with leaving, we leave behind the dearest ones.

Rest in peace, Eric.
I hope you are reading this message
Been looking for this song for years… oh my God!
I miss you terribly Ken...I wish you never left us, the pain is so bad some days. I pray I can see you again one day in heaven.
Reminds me of my mom who passed away from cancer 3 years ago. My teenage life will never be complete without you. Love you mom and can't wait to see you in Heaven.
I was truly moved by this song the second I heard it in that commercial ! Amazing
