Technically, Winwin isn’t trained in contemporary and Chinese Traditional Dance is traditional, therefore not ‘contemporary’/ ‘modern’ but I get what you mean and agree- very special to watch 😊
My interpretation is that we all have a depressive side and optimistic side and in order to move forward as a whole person in life one must accept both sides.
Ten is in white and Winwin is in black/grey. They're both amazing dancers and I love watching the choreographies they create. Fun fact: Winwin is trained in traditional chinese dance
This is one of my favourite choreographies of all time, not because it’s Ten and Winwin, but because the emotions and story actually made me cry a couple of times. So happy that you decided to watch this!! (Also wanna recommend some of Monsta X older choreos like All In, Stuck and Fighter, if you’ve got some spare time:) )
For a heads up : Ten in the one with white outfit and Winwin is in the black one Also, both of them created the choreography together and none of them didn't have any contemporary dance experience beforehand.
WOOOO this has made me tear up a couple of times, the song itself is sentimental but they carried the feels and extended them so, so beautifully. i really appreciate how they have included modern dance, despite not having some solid training in it, it makes it feel raw, open and real.
I have never seen a bad reaction to this video so far. And most of the reactors (including men) have teared up so I'm not surprised by your comment yet I'm thankful that so many new people is getting to see what a beautiful piece they both work so hard on :)
I think that my favorite part of this other than it just being a beautiful piece is that you can see in little tiny moments each of their backgrounds in dance. Nothing huge or enough to stand out just every once in a while if you pause just right you can see small differences in like the way they move their arms or their extensions of their legs and I just think it’s so interesting and beautiful to see
I'm looking forward to this, however I'd also love to see you do a review of NCTs 7th Sense and Ten's Dream In a Dream and also the compilation video of all the routines when Ten was on Hit The Stage.
My interpretation is the duality of our personas. Looks like the dark and light sides are battling, and then they decide to reconcile and coexist. Notice how the tree halves reunite and are bound with the red thread of fate. Winwin (in black) is classically trained. He was a top student at the famous Beijing Academy of Dance, which is hard to get into. He studied traditional Chinese dance, which is a blend of almost ballet-type moves and acrobatic jumps. There are other videos of him dancing traditional types of dance and he's just so talented. Ten (in white) is among the top dancers in Kpop. Some say he's in the top 3. He's a brilliant performer who can do it all, sing, dance, rap, and he's a polyglot fluent in 5 languages. Coincidentally, Ten is in SuperM with Taemin and Kai from EXO, also considered the top dancers in Kpop.
I agree with you 100% and they said anybody can interpret their work as they please bc there are many sides of it and for each person will be a different meaning Thanks for the reaction
It's incredibly nice to see that a dancer basically has the same reaction as my "I can't dance to save my life" self. Glad you reacted to this because it's an absolutely lovely (duh) performance! I was pretty much watching with my jaw on the floor because of how graceful and smooth it was.
I always interpret it as light and darkness in yourself Light and Dark exist both within yourself, they can be the same and opposite simultaneously (mirror) They try to overpower each other sometimes and fall out of sync Then there will be parts in your life when you'll think that darkness is holding you down / overtaking you completely? Or you will try to push down the darkness but it always comes up again regardless how hard you try? And you have to find a way again to harmonise both parts again to feel better In the end you can always try to get away from darkness in general but it is better to embrace it and make something good out of both parts of you ... well I hope my english was good enough for this to be understandable Have a great day! 💕
not being a trained dancer nor knowing their backgrounds, it's really cool to see their naturally different dance styles. they work really well together/complement each other well. they both have so much emotion. it's nice to watch kpop idols show other sides of themselves. great reaction, love your videos!
Hii! I really love your reactions. As a fan of the group and specially Ten's fan (the guy in white clothes), If you would react to more content about Ten, he have two songs and five presentations in a dance program that are really awesome. The songs are New heroes and Dream in a Dream. And the dance show it's Hit The Stage. Thanks for your videos I really enjoy them so much ♡
When a traditional dancer and modern dancer so contemporary dance. So different but so beautiful at the same time. Please also react on Seventeen's The8 Contemporary dance. O.O
winwin is trained in classical chinese dance so he's very much at home in more contemporary choreographies. what i love about this one specifically is that you can see his training in his shapes, they're cleaner and more graceful than ten's. i hope and pray every day we get to see him dance more pieces that follow his training because the way he moves is truly beautiful.
I think its interesting to note that the color of their clothes can also have a meaning. The white outfit isn't a pure, bright white and the black outfit isn't completely black, its more like a grey-ish color. I think this symbolizes that there is no such thing as pure good/ positivity or bad/ depression. There's nothing black or white in life, just shades of grey.
I don't see anything odd of the intimacy between two male dancers in this performance, because I think it's a metaphore of one person fighting with himself inside his head, between good and evil, yin and yang kinda thing. Winwin and Ten really brings out their best to portray it. :)
Ten and WinWin are so graceful. I love watching them dance. But honestly I’d even watch him trim his toenails because I love him and he’s one of my ULTs.
would you checkout vixx's "shangri-la" or shinee's "dream girl"? these are both older choreo/groups but are some of my favorite examples of amazing prop useage that you don't see too much in kpop choreos. shinee's choreo for "dream girl" used mic stands for a retro kind of boyband vibe while vixx's "shangri-la" used fans and wore hanbok for a traditional korean vibe. thanks so much!
"Why so farrrr????" 1. Because there are already videos scheduled. Prior to January, reaction videos only came out on Monday. 2. Daily uploads were only for the month of January because we hit my dance company's Kickstarter goal. 3. Weekly allows me to focus on other projects other than try to keep a daily youtube schedule since I run two businesses. 4. Gives me an opportunity to share the other content i'm passionate about for this content. 5. Traditional studios and movies promote their content months in advance prior to the premiere to help build anticipation. The public already knows the date of when these movies are coming out. I know I'm no big-time studio, but why can't I take a similar approach to my content? Want early access to content? Become a patron! patreon.com/emeroyb
SM Entertainment biggest mistake is not utilizing WinWin's (The one in black) classical Chinese training. They are quick to incorporate martial arts though. WinWin's lines are insane... from day one... y2u.be/nFMSpKYTSxs This is what you would expect but instead they tried to beat it out of him so his feet would take. Both Ten and WinWin did a beautiful job... it's short but oh so sweet.
I understand why they are being published this late but can’t you just post the video on the day you wanna post it premiering it for a month is a little too much

im always admired to see winwin in his natural habitat that is contemporary
I second this 😩🖤✨
agree, i'd love to see him do more
Yesss... Kinda sad Winwin a lil bit struggling to dance hip hop, which is different from his forte

glad you liked it!
The fact that they came up with the choreography, setup and everything by themselves really amazes me.
thanks for watching! glad you enjoyed the video

"graceful and strong" this is exactly how Ten's dancing is. love this reaction vid!!
every time i watch this video it gives me goosebumps, the feelings that they portray are overwhelming. This video made me in love with Ten and Winwin
thanks for watching! glad you enjoyed the video
Omg you need to watch "hit the stage (Ten's performances)" it's a dance competition and ten was the best of the show

I believe this song--and the choreography, by extension--are about depression. However, it is naturally open to interpretation.
I love your interpretation of the meaning of the dance!
