All through the film, which moves along languidly then rips your heart out in the last 15 minutes, I absolutely loved the score. Rachel's done some great work in her time.
one of the most touching movies i think i have ever seen ....the music just takes u and drags u into the emotions of the charachters .....wowzers....ive watched it 3 times in as many months and its just amazing.....
I found that many people did not like this film. I guess they couldn't see the true beauty behind the film. Andrew Garfield was amazing in this film as well as Carey Mulligan.... but props go to Garfield... I think he has a bright future ahead of him in the acting world.
Just watch this movie last night for the first time, I cried my eyeballs out. I have so much more respect for Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield, after watching their performances. And yes, the music is "hauntingly beautiful" Would like to know more about the music Kathy was hearing in bed. I think it was a present from Tommy.
The fascinating thing about film scores i that when you're listening to them they wake the emotions you were having while watching the film. This is why people who probably have not watch the film might not perceive the score as we do.
Greatest book. im glad the music lived up to my expectations. i just wish they didnt add the first sequence of text to the movie. if they didnt then it would have been perfect.
If you go to my channel, I've also uploaded the pop song (by fictional singer Judy Bridgewater) Kathy listens to. And in the information below the video, there is a link to an article explaining the song's history and production.

Rachel Portman is a freak when it comes to compose movie scores. Truly amazing. All her works are perfect.

Who is? I'm reading the book now. In the last chapter. Going to rewatch the film after not watching it for years.
I understand this. It's artistic vision that evokes such an emotional response that will stick with you forever.
