Unlike everyone else online who makes this topic seem sooo complicated, you made the basic Google Studio setup very easy to understand (although you talk awful fast lol). Great job. Thank you!
Holy crap you just changed the game for me! Thanks to you I just put together my budget in Google sheets (that I shared with my spouse!!) And my new budget dashboard 😭. I never used data studio before today nor did I know that it existed. You freaking ROCK! THANK YOU!!!
I love how you connected the spreadsheet with Google Data studio. Wondering if there's a way to take this a step further by starting with a google form and using the generated spreadsheet to Google Data Studio. That way you can update the sheet via Google form instead of hopping into it every week. It seems like it will be easier to manage.
Hi Samuel is is possible and that is what I did. In my case it is easier collect just the expenses on the go, so I created a tab for "fixed expenses" and another tab for "other expenses". Then I created a form to collect data of expenses and I added a shortcut in the homescreen of my phone and added it in bookmarks on the PC. The data that I collect in the form goes to a specific form tab, but I use the query formula to send it to "other expenses" tab and then the rest is the same. It is working pretty well.
Just finished making this Data Report. This was an informative, fun and satisfying walkthrough on how to translate the Google Sheet budget report to a visualized data report. I may review the video over again, explore the settings and controls used to make this sheet and try to add all my last year's actual financial data to see what this report could look like for a fully made expense report. Might help me catch what I should watch myself on in the year to come. Until then I'll just need to do my due diligence in updating my Google Sheets budget sheet and looking carefully at where my fiscal "pain points" would be per category and per season. Thanks again for your helpful guides; feeling like I can have more peace of mind in life eliminating financial uncertainty from it with your tools.

I just found this video and it was SUPERRRR helpful. Finally I have a budget system where I can calculate to the penny and it matches my bank account/final statements. One question tho - so the chart to show the lowest balance your account will be for a month doesn't seem to reflect the lowest account record in my final tracker tab where the running balance is. For example, the chart of my data studio report shows $1000 but my final tracker tab shows $500. Am I doing something wrong? I went through and deleted and re-added the chart using your instructions to make sure I wasn't crazy but I'm still getting the incorrect answer (unless I'm mis-understanding the parameters). Thanks again for such a FANTASTIC video!!!
That's Awesome and Thanks for making this video. I only need to show a line graph of 'income, Expense, and Passive Income in this data studio. Please guide me on how can I do this. Again thanks for the video. I am waiting for your reply.

Quick question, when I make edits in my original budget spread sheet from where we imported the final tracker sheet, will those changes be reflected on this dashboard or I would have to import the updated final tracker sheet allover again?

I have tried so many times to get my running balance to work like yours. For some reason its making up its own values to put in that chart. I have followed step by step both videos. I have no idea what I could be doing wrong.
The issue could be that you have multiple items, whether income or debits, on a singular date. He did not change the metric from "SUM," so it's adding the running balance for each instance of that date. You could change the metric to "MIN," which would select the smallest value on a given date.
