One of my late brother's favorite spots. We never went to Galveston that we didn't go into Colonel Bubbies. He was a reenactor, movie extra, and a militaria collector and this place was like the candy store for his inner kid. So sad to see it closed after all the years.
Christmas 2014, Col. Bubbie's is my next shop stop. Sad, they will close soon after. Back in the 90's, I purchased WWII items for my father's army buddy reunion. I was able to get each of the army buddies patches and emblems for their outfit the "543rd Amphibian Engineers" stationed in the Pacific. This place has made many people happy through the years. We will miss you.
Everything that is fun to do and visit, is all fading away.. i took my family through this colonel bubbies and even my children enjoyed it. it was always a fun and exciting stopping point in gal/tex. About a year ago my daughter and son in law went to the Strand , and she said, Dad it is not the same. Meaning , the fun is all gone. sadly, all thing change and you think that they should change for the better. America, is now the HMS Titanic, no lifeboats .
I want to be clear, I thumb-uped your video Not because Col. Bubbie's gone, I'm Very sad about that! It's because you were kind enough to confirm they're gone, thanks.
