i lived in 2 places down that way when i was down on my luck and desperate.. in 1988 i lived on Denmark Rd, and around 1990 Claremont Rd, Proper Mud Hut Dirt Bowl back then. if you stepped out of line you're head would get popped so i defo didn't go out after 7pm. i was just an average guy that's never had a criminal record so obviously i got the heck up out of there asap and moved in with my dad in reddish for a while. but even Reddish is a Dirt Bowl Now. i think Dane Bank is probably the only place that's not gone full S h i t Tip yet. every where else is Lost.
I had a flat in Reddish back in 2000 after splitting with then partner. Met a woman from Clitheroe and was relocating. It was 20 odd years ago now but I remember there was a ramraid on a garage I think a few hundred yards away and a guy got stabbed and killed in his garden plus some other crime close by. Got to Clitheroe and got the local paper and the headline was [I kid you not ] "Daisy the cow is 32" ! Like going back to the 50's and it's not changed really since then. Used to regularly visit the Moss in the 70's looking for soul and reggae 45s. Perfectly safe back then. Black and white working class.
@@rodshard8605 i remember a ramraid thing, i think it was in Stockport, and i definitely remember the guy that got killed in his garden, he owned a furniture shop on Hyde rd near the old Royal Bank of Scotland, it was a Burglar that was breaking in to his shed, think the kid that did it, his name was Barraclough or something, no doubt he'll be out now and walking the streets. this place has been getting worse for years, so i think you made the right choice leaving, most of the decent folk i knew round here that could afford to took off years ago. now no one knows each other and the unity has gone
Tell us what you reality think😂😂 I drove around that area visiting different NHS buildings. It’s still and was a shit hole. Love the people tho in the clinics. Great down to earth people.
