今回はカンタベリーへのひとり旅で
ぶつぶつ独り言を話しています。

You capture the essence of Canterbury so well…Bravo! Well filmed ! What fascinating vlogs and so interesting and moving that I’m making a rather long comment, I’m afraid ! Yes, going into a crowded tearoom/pub etc can be intimidating especially alone, in a different country, young, female etc. But HUGE RESPECT to you ! It takes courage and enterprise to go to another country especially a very different one. Not many have the courage to do what you are doing. As regards your English - you say you don’t notice any improvement. Actually that’s a fairly typical feeling but in fact you HAVE improved…..the difference between your first vlogs and this one - more confident and fluent, wider vocab ! Some tips -1) don’t be frightened of making mistakes, MISTAKES ARE GOOD, just speak ! That’s how u learn. 2) the most difficult thing is speaking (production, output), that’s normal. Listening, reading (input) come first then speaking, writing. I’m learning Japanese and all the good tutors emphasise lots of listening, reading initially. A bit frustrating but true (with Japanese, of course, the Kanji are a big hurdle) 3) try to VARY your reading NOT just newspapers, magazines…short stories are good especially if you already understand 90% of the text (they say 4 totally new words per page is too much for enjoyable, valuable reading. But difficult to find those levels) 4) That tutor was right - random conversation is excellent but you must continue some studying of structure (eg more advanced structures like “however much I earn , I always spend it……however fast I drive, I never have an accident”, usages, vocab, phrasal verbs…a lot of folk, once they can communicate in every day situations, they stop studying and their English stays still !!
