MK-90 was used in a radio-spectrogram device that used a scintillation sensor. GPIO header above is a drver-controller interface used to connect to that sensor. Memory card stored a software that built diagrams for isotopes. Unfortunately, when I've hot my unit in 2007, the memory card battery was long gone (((( And since Basic can not interface GPIO header, I could not play with it. After using the whole setup for several years as a toy, I've donated it to our local radiophile. Now I know that it was a stupid idea to get rid of the device, cause Arduino came to our country about the same year and I could try to use Arduino to reverse engineer the sensor controller.
Thanks for the video ) At least some new content with my favorite toy ) Actually, this thing is far from beyond of being fully understood nowadays and a lot of its history and usage still stays covered in shadow. And, based on how popular this thing is on Ebay i can hardly understand why there is no fans of it somewhere in US or western Europe, as well as near 0 info on youtube and forums from English-speaking owners. Unique, by itself, piece of machinery.

Nice terminal keyboard. I'm not sure how much audio processing is doing to that click but it sounds really nice.
