    Very generous of uncle Steve allowing New Zealand to keep Lawson as a New Zealander😂 When he achieves success there is no doubt Aussie will claim him as their own, as usual...

      You can keep Liam. He has, at least, lived the vast majority of his life in Silver Fernland, unlike Gizzy or Scott McLaughlin (and more than a few of the current Supercars drivers), who were brought to Aus as young people and lived many years here as they developed their racing skills.

      @@SteveA-FBiT Fair point Steve ( I was being facetious😊), and we appreciate our wonderful Aussie cousins. But then again, based on that logic Aussie maybe should keep the 501's they send to NZ (avg 362 per year), i.e Aussie takes NZ 1 year olds, "develops" them into criminals then deports them back to NZ as 30-40-50 year olds! 🙃

    Regarding Lawson beating Max, I can't see it happening, but Lawson may not need too to potentially win. Aside from potential Max DNF's, Max has to survive first 11 races without receiving 4 SL points, that could be a big ask for Max🤔

    The alternative interim name in the FOM/FIA duel could be Formula Won 😂

    With Spanners at 44:15, no chance for a Lawson win! Too many better drivers in better cars, would be a very unlikely yet welcomed scenario to see Lawson pick up his first win in 2025!

    Where is the idea that Piastri is faster than Norris coming from?? There’s not one single data point to back that 😂😂. Norris throttled him on quali and is faster on race pace on 3 out of every 4 tracks. The constructors was only close woth Ferrari because Piastri dropped the ball race after race down the stretch. If Lando is supposed to win in the fastest car, Piastri probably should have done better than 4th. Piastri wasnt even close to Charles. The Norris hate/double standard is insane lmao

      I totally agree. There is absolutely nothing to suggest from anything seen that Oscar will definitely be better than Lando. Lando was comfortably better by all measures, particularly in the second part of the season. It’s also ridiculous to me this statement that Lando is the finished product. Every preseason since 2021 people have been predicting Lando’s downfall trying to be provocative only to be made to look a fool.

    • @SteveA-FBiT
      @SteveA-FBiT 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@brandonhollis9882 Lando has had six full seasons to show us what he's got, and he is being chased down by a driver who has just completed his second years. Lando also had the advantage of getting the upgrades first, but if you look at the points count for the second half of the season, Oscar more than had his measure. Lando took the points in the first part of the season, partly through the upgrade favouritism and partly because Oscar was still coming to grips with the Pirelli tyres, but Oscar is a proven fast learner, and Lando is not. Lando has never exhibited the 'killer instinct' that real champions have in spades. Oscar has shown that he has this, through all of his F4, F3, F2 championships. Lando's days are numbered.

      @@SteveA-FBiT At the summer break, Oscar had the points gap between him and Lando down in the 30-40 point range and people were talking about him finishing ahead of Lando by the end of the year. At the end of the year Lando was 82 points ahead. In Zandvoort and Singapore where Lando is winning by 20+ seconds, Oscar is nowhere. Lando in 6th had such an advantage on Oscar in 7th in Las Vegas that he could pit for fastest lap and not be overtaken. Poles 8-0, qualy head to head 20-4…I wouldn’t say any of this was holding his own in the second half. Yes, I get Lando is more experienced and this is what you would expect against a less experienced teammate, but if Piastri is the next coming of Senna people are hyping him to be I’d think you’d expect some more progress and being on par with his teammate more consistently. Who knows, maybe Oscar starts 2025 on fire and is unbeatable…we’ll see…but there is nothing beyond banking on vibes and expectations to say he’ll dismiss Lando. Yes, Lando has had six years (4.5 of those in a car that could only hope to sniff a podium), but it’s absolutely ludicrous to me to suggest he’s at his peak and can’t/won’t improve. Max overcame his early crash happiness and became a better driver every year until he won his first title in his 7th year. Leclerc of 2024 is a better driver than Leclerc of 2022 having learned from his first attempt, albeit brief, at a championship battle. He’s cut out the silly crashes and mental mistakes. I’m betting on Lando similarly learning from 2024 and being a more complete driver and better version of himself in 2025. People keep sleeping on Lando and he keeps raising his game,

    Lawson has driven a bunch of races over 2 seasons in 2 reasonably different F1 cars, super formula, DTM, F3 and F2.
    He cannot be considered as a rookie for mine.

    I feel Honda will have very little to say in Aston Martin, because if the did, both Alonso and Stroll's contract would not have been renewed. Honda imo made a very odd choice to supply that team with engines while their brand will be pushed away. This happened at Red Bull were no media would mention Honda and just call the team 'RBR' instead, unless the content was about the engine. AM is a car manufacturer and a way stronger brand than Honda, and it's pretty clear a lot of people including some media think the team is AM's factory team. So Honda will be mentioned even less.
    I don't see them ever taking Tsunoda. There are more prominent names available. HPS Investment and Accel Arctos only have 20 to 25% (at a valuation of 1,8 billion euro according to Sky Sports) so that's way too little to overrule Lawrence about anything. They bought the shares when Stroll was still there, so they won't push through anything.

    • @SteveA-FBiT
      @SteveA-FBiT 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I don't agree with the statement that Aston Martin is a strong brand than Honda. World wide Honda out sells Aston by thousands to one.

    • @douglaskillock3537
      @douglaskillock3537 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes indeed. Aston may be a strong brand but not more so than Honda. And they certainly do not make engines, or power units as we now call them. Yuki is clearly not going anywhere with Red Bull so it would be no surprise to see him at Aston

    • @djoetma
      @djoetma 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@douglaskillock3537 It actually is. You can also tell from the extent to which F1 was willing to help Honda when they were struggling (not) vs Audi/Porsche when they entered F1 (basically reshaped the engine formula for them). When Max became WDC, the market share of Honda dropped below 1% in the Netherlands where he at the time by far was the most popular athlete while having huge Honda logos on his outfit and car.
      It doesn't matter that Aston Martin doesn't make engines. Neither does McLaren and when they were underperforming, despite McLaren having not performed since 2012, not even witht eh powerful 2014 Merc PU, people only blamed Honda and didn't even consider McLaren's role in this. And even after the still didn't perform after Honda left, people still blame Honda.
      People have this imaginary dream idea about AM, they don't about Honda, which to most is just a run of the mill brand (I'm saying this as a Honda fan myself)
      And again, there are better drivers out there than Yuki that will be available (I thought the guess around Sainz was a sold one), while Honda doesn't have this say at Aston, judging from them renewing Alonso and Stroll.

    • @douglaskillock3537
      @douglaskillock3537 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @djoetma So what was Aston's market share? It's a niche luxury car producer with some nice history and James Bond as advertising. I don't know how much history of the sport you know but the McLaren Honda partnership was quite successful

    • @djoetma
      @djoetma 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@douglaskillock3537 I was talking about the last time they partnered and what the narrative around that from the media.
      Market share is irrelevant to brand value. I mentioned about the Netherlands because of the Max effect and how little Honda was able to profit from that even though they had such a little market share, that it should be easy to improve it.

    The disrespect to redbull is rich.... I guess an eight times champions team doesn't have a clue what they are doing. I mean the guy only built a drinks company right?! I can understand disliking a team but you gotta also be fair in your analysis. Geez y'all must be truly hurt at the redbull success. And that Lawson take was too hot... Y'all forget that Max is the other driver. A four time world Champion who is a generational talent. But carry on
