I just ruined my second grinder by putting too much pressure on the locking nut just as you showed here, I knew better after the first time!, so I always recommend having spare nuts so you are not tempted to use a vice etc and to instead go strait to cutting off the nut as shown here at the end.

Hi, yes, Hand tightening the blade is enough, the spanner is for opening it! I know that now!!

Owen, as you've covered before, its a time and effort calculation. If you add into that " I don't know bout lectrics" and you have a perfect waste scenario, cheers

Thinking about the nut being mega tight and the old worn disc being below the surface. Do you think this grinder could have been set up this way to drive something else. The worn disc must have been fitted like that. The only other way that the nuts get that tight is when they rub against something when running, but who would run a disc like that and why? Cheers

It is one of those mysteries, I am still wondering how they get the figs in the fig rolls. I guess we'll never know!

Any tips on how to remove the lock nut bearing on the washing machine drum. I've tried using my impact driver it's just chewing the screw
