Being a smaller pit, my pieces were a little big. I think I made mention of that in video. The hotter the fire and the more the wood burned down, there was less smoke. Not totally smokeless but it just smokes less. I like mine. I just wish I went with a little bit bigger one. Thanks for watching.
That burnt grass is one big disadvantage of the East Oak vs Solo Stove. Solo Stove is completely closed off on the bottom and with the stand it will not burn your grass or whatever else it's on.

Patio stone of fire brick should work. I just ordered a mat for mine but haven't tested it yet. Thanks for watching!!
Do you think leaving it on the ground obstructed the air flow and it might warm up more once you put it on the pavers?
