WHAT a Trip Down Memory Lane!!! I was station in Ledward Barracks CSC 2/30th Inf from 1977 to 1980. East - West Border Patrol. Damned Fine Soldier Second to None!! Thanks for the memories!!
I was at Conn. 1962- oct. 1963, in the 82nd art. We had 2 280mm cannons. The army stopped using the 280 about the nov.1963. Would like to talk to anyone that was there after I departed.
Was stationed at Conn from '84 - '86. 63B (Light Wheel Mechanic) assigned to HHC 3/64 Armor. As I recall, the first unit ever to receive the M1 tank. I recall my time there fondly.
My dad was one of the Chaplains at Ledward Barracks, 1972-1975. We lived in Asken Manor on Jackson Street, now called Margarethe-Geiger Strasse. 2nd through 4th grade for me. I have lots of fond memories of Schweinfurt.
I was there, at Ledward, 87 to 89. A Battery, 1st Bn/10th FA. Main floor where the 3 arty batteries were housed. A, B, and C. What memories. I was just an 18 yr old kid
