That was really interesting about JD Sumner! I’ve always thought he would’ve been just a bass in a choral setting, it’s cool that Yuri thinks he would’ve done well as an oktavist.
Oh most definitely! Very intriguing, as he directly disagrees with Vladimir Miller on that. Vladimir Miller was quite excited when he first of the “lowest bass in the world JD Sumner”. Vladimir was very disappointed when he discovered that not only was he always mic’d but that it lacked the tonal qualities of a true profundo
Jd sumner as well as London Parris can not sing without microphone when they try to sing lower and louder. Only Thurl Ravenscroft can act both a Gospel bass singer and an" oktavist",but he still cannot work as perfect as many gifted oktavist.
@@xandertheoktavist Ngl we can't even argue with either of them cause they the best lmao. But if I'm being true to my feelings I do believe JD Sumner could've been an oktavist because his speaking voice itself was extremely low so if he had oktavist training he would've been amazing. But that's just my opinion.
Amazing! Thank you for making this happen! Now we know that there may be recordings of him and Zlatopolski singing together. Treasures waiting to be found
Good job! Loved every single bit. Tbh, i expected a nice contra G as an ending, but a Bb will do just fine. :) Also, great tips for younger basses, Yuri seems very intrigued by the whole Bass community around the world and the FB group. Also, you keep getting better man, much more confidence and i liked your outro, more "TH-cam" style, keep it up!
The basso profundo recorded versus live contains most discrepancy, as opposed to other voices. Live, the resonance knocks you off your feet; the earth shakes; it goes through your body. Interesting that what YW says about choirs also obtains with Welsh choirs (the land of choirs). It's the zeitgeist.
Wonderful interview!
The Oktavism Channel muchos gracias amigo looking forward to you finding that footage.

DonSchanteloni yes! I’ve been assisting in any shape or form to the oktavism channel to find those recordings! We need them!
wow, i remember him from the old CD. Amazing

George Deves My pastor told me I should end my videos that way haha!
congratulations.; great interview
Thank you for this interview. I actually wasn't aware that he was still active.
I think, he sounds exactly like Artamanov
That's exactly a basso-profondo-speaking voice should sound. Yes, Artamonov and Wishnjakov sound very alike.
это же Юрий Вишняков! Почему подписано Николай Миллер??
Николай Миллер помогал Юрию с зумом.
I would be interested in what his views are on the music he sings - favorite pieces, composers, and so forth......
Awesome!!!
I am curious about pasyukov's speaking voice cause there are no recordings about his speaking voice
I know right?
@@bradycall1889 Oh that’s fortunate and you are good.
38:14 Получается Юрий Александрович всё же 51 года рождения, а то иногда называют 1955-й год. В той же википедии противоречивая информация.
Wonderful interview, thank you so much Alexander! (btw why does it say Nikolai Miller?)
That's because Nikolai lives nearby , and helped Mr. Wichniakov with using Zoom.
@@reubenthomas7907 Yes, thank you very much, I had already seen it on facebook some minutes ago :-)
I do wonder, how are you able to get oktavists to speak with you?

Евгений Николаевич Глухи the world famous Vlad Morosan Founder and creator of Musica Russica
@@xandertheoktavist thank you very much, never heard of him.

Thurl Ravenscroft is the only man who can get good performances in oktavist,as a gospel bass singer.
