On February 22, 2022, police responded to a theft report in La Crosse, WI. The caller claimed her 33-year-old boyfriend stole her truck and attempted to shoot up her house. Once he was located, he fired at an officer, prompting the establishment of a perimeter. Later on, the male ditched his handgun, sprinted toward a school campus, and hid beneath a car, unaware that a witness was watching the entire sequence of events.

I love how the one officer was being very nice, and telling the other officers to just breathe. They even offered that guy to come in to the cop car didn't they? The guy who was walking home?

So proud of how quickly the officer called this out and got the area blocked off. He had his head on a swivel from the second he saw that flash. His concern for the community not knowing where the bullet went, putting himself second is proof of his commitment to his job.

Great job by the first responding officer or two & then soon a lot of officers coming to help. It was great to hear the people calling in telling the dispatcher where he threw his gun & giving them updates where he was trying to hide. It's scary to think you're looking for a guy with a gun who already fired a shot & you're out in the open trying to protect civilians that are out walking unaware of what's going on. You know he can see you but you're still looking for his location hoping not to get shot. It's a dangerous job & thank God theirs brave officers out there protecting the public. ❤️ Ontario, 🇨🇦

When people assume the cops are evil and just looking to hurt people they fail to see situations like this where a guy shoots at the police and the first thing they say when arresting him is to ask if he's ok and they are even concerned that he is cold and letting him know they are going to get him into the car and out of the cold. These cops handled this amazingly.

It is unbelievably refreshing to hear of a case where a Wisconsin Court has finally recognized that criminals should be incarcerated. Based on past episodes of this series, I was all prepped to hear he was released on a $200 signature bond.

I live in la crosse, and any time ive seen police or even had to deal with them. They have always been professional. Very good training here. Just wish the system didn't fail thier work.
