Simple method to clean vinyl dawn dish soap. Follow up with areo space 303. Keep bottle of deluted car wash in trunk to clean bird droppings ASAP.
I have owned may rag tops.
Have had good luck with my method works for boat seats also.
The fabric style tops like 3m Scotch guard applied carefully.
Hi Dom - nice video -- nice videography techniques and editing! Well done. I have my soft top cleaned by Swissvax who apply their protector. It should last for 2 years, apparently.
I found it interesting seeing the Autoglym products used and also the hood wash. I have protected my paintwork and wheels with Soft 99's "Fusso Coat" which is hydrophobic and also holds dirt at bay. I can really recommend it. As a consequence (and because I want to avoid more swirls than the previous owner put in) I almost always do contactless washing using high-pressure hoses. It's safe as long as you don't aim directly at the roof. BTW is your car True Red (code A4A)? If so, it's the same as my 2009 NCFL. All the best, Rob in Switzerland
Go to a camping shop and purchase a large container of Fabsil, its the cheapest and best way to proof ya roof. It goes on easily with a small paint brush.

I've got some really cheap pet carpet shampoo and some fabsil left from when l did my tent. A few years ago. What could go wrong? Absolutely nothing!

Hi thanks for the video! I've watched it some time ago and I bought the Autoglym kit. However doing some more research it seems that the cleaner (or the protector) can be very nasty on paint. I have seen pictures of paint bubbling and flaking. I am really concerned now, and I haven't used it. Do you think that rinsing the car after applying the protector will be enough?
Are the 2005 model electric roof or manual looking to buy one with roof problems would it be an expensive fix ?

Is the roof fabric or vinyl? Guides online say fabric roofs feel like tent material whereas vinyl feels like grained plastic... and the standard roof feels like neither
Hello, thanks for the comment. All NC’s came with fabric roofs (apart from PRHT’s which are metal). Any vinyl or mohair roofs I believe are retrofitted. Can’t say I agree with online saying they are tent material... they feel like fabric not nylon sheet 🤷♂️

Standard sport NC wheels my friend 17x7, painted when refurbed.

Next time you should wash it without your shirt on...just the jeans and boots...you are too cute!....Thanks for the video, do you recommend cleaning the roof "drain holes" after washing the top?... I'm thinking it would be a good idea afterward...
