- Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the Albanese Labor government “dug in deeper” on their immigration policy amid a housing crisis.
“There are two Albanese government policies that are so plainly stupid and now so damaging, damaging to everyone with a mortgage because they are paying for them, everyone trying to buy or rent a home,” Mr Bolt said.
“But the government today just dug in deeper … bringing in nearly a million immigrants in just two years, what kind of government does that when we clearly do not have enough homes for them all and are building many fewer than we need.”

Japan, for instance, only pays welfare benefits to Japanese born citizens, so only 2.9% of their population are foreign born. In Australia it is 49%. You can migrate to Japan if you like, but you have to pay your own health and housing costs etc. This should be our policy, but our governments seem determined to send our welfare system broke, obviously under orders from outside interests.

We are enduring the worst cost of living crisis we have seen probably since Keating had a go. My power has gone up by a third, the price of fuel is high, groceries have increased by at least a third. House and contents insurance up by over $1,000.00, comprehensive car insurance up by a third and the agreed value has halved, Health insurance has been creeping up gradually over the last couple years to the point where one has to decide, "Can I afford it or really can I afford to be without it given the state of our public health system". With increased Immigration comes an increase burden on that health system, an increased burden on education resources, law and order, housing and ultimately the job market itself. So many businesses are failing at the moment and that is going to get worse.
When it comes to Immigration, we need to be looking at net zero. We need to look at where those immigrants are coming from and choose carefully. What is their ability to speak English, whether English is their first language, their standard of education. What skills can they offer Australia? Are they willing to assimilate into Australia. Most importantly, where are we going to put them when there are so many Australians who can't find something to rent or can't afford the rent, or are facing the threat that interest rates will destroy their ability to pay the mortgage on a home of their own.
