Dena JT looks great and so do you. You both have worked hard to get where you are and I am sure he was very surprised.. Congrats to both of you. Glad you had a great time together.Great job of hitting all of your stitching goals as well. You always get so much stitching done I am amazed and they all look beautiful. Happy stitching
Thank you so much, Linda, for the compliments on both my and JT's weight loss and also on my stitching. I am having a great month in June, hitting my goals. Hope you are enjoying all you are stitching as well. Dena
Emjay, thanks so much for the compliment for JT and my progress with our health journeys. Thanks for bearing with me with the stitching plans. LOL. Dena
Hello Dena...thanks for your sweet visit...it was good seeing your family pictures...you and JT look great...I have has some health issues and your accomplishments are doubly enjoyable for me...I feel like they are mine...love seeing all your goals...Cocoa is as adorable as ever...take care and best wishes ❤❤
Dena - JT is looking amazing; he's doing so well on his health journey, as are you! Congrats on hitting so many of your June goals so quickly; there's still a lot of time left in this month for you to get those others accomplished. Happy stitching! - TaMara
TaMara, I think I have decided to finish the page on 13th Colony and only stitch my 100 stitches for my BINGO game until I finish that page. Then I think I will swap out the Haunted Mansion for Spring Awakens because it makes more since to stitch the spring piece now instead of Halloween. LOL. Dena
Hello Dena, what a wonderful trip you had to visit with your son and how proud you both look in the photos with JT. Congratulations to you both on your success at gaining better health through weight loss and exercise. The effort that goes into that can never be underestimated but the benefits are so worth it as you both look so well. You are making such great progress on your June goals and you showed us such lovely projects. I loved the beads you added on Classic Christmas which is such a pretty design. I will certainly give some thought to Christmas in July as I have quite a few wips that it would be fun to work on. Thank you Dena for sharing with us and also for the cute footage of Cocoa and Co at the end. Happy stitching, Teresa 🚲♥
Teresa, thank you so much for the kind words of affirmation for JT and me regarding our health journeys. My hubby and I are so very proud of JT for all he has accomplished. Oh, thank you for the compliment on my A Classic Christmas! Happy Stitching to you and I hope you will share what you decide to stitch in July! Dena
Hi Dena. So much great stitching as usual! Good to hear that JT is doing well, you are both looking fabulous. Your hard work is paying off, very inspiring to myself also, I need a kick start!
Dena you and JT are a true inspiration!!! I love your family photos and want to hang out with Cocoa and her friends. It's so nice seeing all your stitching progress. I haven't stitched in a few weeks but my sewing room is about organized and I've been working on my primitive rug designs. I might substitute Halloween for Christmas stitching in July. Have a great week!
Sounds like a great plan for you in July! I so love to get everything organized like you are doing in your sewing room. I just rearranged two closets myself to get all my framed stitching downstairs. Now I don't have to carry it all down every time I change out the stitching decor. Just made since to me and I feel so accomplished. LOL. Dena
Becky, thanks for the compliments for both JT and my health journey and my stitching! Hope you are having a great month so far with your stitching. Dena
Fabulous video today. Your son and yourself should both be proud of yourselves on the weight loss, it’s not easy. JT looks so well and so glad he’s settling into new area. X
Sharon, we are very happy. JT told me this morning he is now down to 189 and is still trying to lose a little down to 175 or so. I am so very happy for him. Dena
Hi Dena, such a fun video! So happy you got to visit with JT! That snowy mountain is gorgeous! Kudos to you on all your projects! See you Thursday! Lori
Lori, thanks so much for stopping by to visit again. The visit with JT was awesome and I am over the moon that I got those pine cones finished on Snow and Mountains. LOL. Looking forward to talking with you Thursday. Dena
Dena so happy to hear your visit with JT was wonderful and that he is doing well. Great job on your June goals so far. I am also planning to stitch xmas in July and can't wait 😊 Have a great stitching week.
Jeannie, I get to stitch on All you Need is Love for my little BINGO prompt today so that will be lovely. I have been doing some reorganization and some laundry etc this morning, so I am about to start stitching! Dena
Marion, thanks so much for the kind words regarding my and JT's weight loss. He looks so trim, he shocked me. Anyway, we had so much fun. Hope you are enjoying your stitching. Today I get to stitch on my All you need is Love for a BINGO prompt. Looking forward to pulling it back out. Dena
Yes! Christmas in July is my plan as well! I'm not sure exactly what I've got but I know of at least three...and progress is progress!! You and JT are both looking really great...I'm sure he was as surprised of you as you were of him.. Looking forward to seeing you soon! Enjoy your stitching!
Karla, it won't be very long before we are all stitching together again! I will have to revisit the featured designers for the retreat to see if I have any Christmas from them. LOL. Dena
Cathleen, can't wait to see what you plan to do for your Christmas in July stitching. I hope you will share that on your video so I can see it. Happy Stitching this month. Dena
I'm glad you had such a good time visiting with JT. You both look wonderful. I'll join Christmas in a July with you. I started 4 Christmas projects in May so I can continue with them plus I do a Christmas ornament each month also.
Iris, great that you are joining in on the Christmas in July stitching! With your monthly ornament, that will give you five projects for July which is perfection! Dena
Hi Dena. It is so nice to hear from you. You are always such an inspiration to me. You and JT look fabulous and I am sure you feel that way too. It sounds like you all had a wonderful visit. Congratulations on your finish. It is beautiful and I love the addition of the beads. I have seriously been thinking about doing Christmas in July this year. I have three or four Christmas WIPs and a couple are very close to being finished. I have several other Christmas projects that I would like to start. I am looking forward to seeing what you stitch and possibly finish. Have fun.
You and your son look terrific! Glad you had a nice visit with him. I have two holiday pieces close to a finish so I had already decided to make Christmas in July and finish them. Glad to see I am not alone. Take care.
I just enjoy catching up with you and all the things you have been working on! I stitched and finished the Hamds on design piece, I finished mine in a small basket, it’s such a sweet pattern! I’m so glad you have a such a wonderful visit with your son. You both look fabulous
Thanks so much for stopping by again Natasha! Appreciate the kind words regarding JT's and my appearance since losing weight. We are both feeling the best we have in years. Dena
You are so talented! An idea for your pup: My dog, a Chihuahua named Bailey, absolutely hates going in the car. The only thing worse than being in the car is being in a carrier inside the car. He has panic attacks. So I use a seat belt harness and crack the window an inch or two. I don’t know if it’s the air or the sound (I suspect it’s the sound, sort of white noise for him), but it calms him down. He still doesn’t like the car, but he’s more comfortable in it and no panic. My nephew’s dog reacts the same way, so give it a try!
You had great stitching this time! Congratulations on all your progress and goals that you are meeting. I think Christmas stitching in July would be awesome! I’m in!!!
Sandy, so glad you are planning on stitching Christmas in July! I am really glad I am working so hard on some of the other non-Christmas WIPs this month so I won't feel they are neglected next month. Dena
Jenn, so glad you are considering Christmas in July stitching with me. Love your idea of the smalls for gifts (no matter the theme of the stitch, it is still for Christmas). Happy Stitching this month. Dena
Amazing stitching progress!!! I am planning on stitching Christmas in July: ‘Twas the Night by Sue Hollis will be my main focus, finish the last section on Welcome to the North Pole by Primrose Cottage, start the 2024 Prairie Schooler. And you are looking fabulous Ms Dena. Thanks for sharing 😊
Hi Dena! Thanks for sharing your trip and meet up with JT. Wonderful to see the family and shoutout to JT! Congrats on your finish and another block on your HRH🎉. Christmas in July sounds like great fun, I'm in. Here are my projects and wow, didn't realize I had this many on the go! Christmas at HRH, Dimensions Santa's Snowglob stocking, Stoney Creek 3 Wisemen and Sue Hillis Stitchers Days. Yay! 😂
Marysa it was so good to chat with you today! I am so excited about you joining me for the Christmas in July stitching. A good way for you to get back working on some of these WIPs you have. Your stitching is so beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your progress. Dena
Great idea to make one a focus while touching all of the Christmas WIPs. I am touching all of my Christmas WIPs as well, but I don't know that I have decided on one to finish yet. Let me think.....Dena
I'm happy that you had such a wonderful time with JT, short but sweet visits can be the best. i always look forward to your videos and progress on your projects. The Nutcracker just arrived from Twin Peak Primitives and I'm considering kitting it up and making it my Christmas in July project - she's a hefty girl and probably won't get her finished for this Christmas. Happy stitching!
Donna, that sounds like a wonderful way to start a large project...to give it a month of concentrated effort. Love the idea. So happy you may join me in my Christmas in July stitching. Dena
Hi Dena I'm back. I was on vacation to Indiana to see my granddaughter graduate from High School. In her class was 1,360 students that graduated and it took about 3 1/2 hours and it was fun but exhausting as well but I loved it. I am very far behind in floss tube and stitching and my hubby and I got back a few days ago and still recouping from the trip. I will join you in July and do just Christmas or winter stitching it will be fun. I may even start some new projects of cross stitching. I will let you know when the time comes. I started 33 new projects this year and if you include May starts a total of 37 new starts and I may add some new starts in July (will see). I am sending you my May starts to you by email. Hope you like them. I love your finishes and WIP's they're always beautiful to see and you give me a lot of ideas. Love seeing Cocoa playing with Fred. I am so proud of how much weight you and your son have done. Since I was on vacation and back home I have lost about 10 to 15 pounds and still working at it. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
Way to go Pat with your weight loss as well. Every pound is a hard fought battle for me, so I am pulling for you as well. I got your email and loved your new May starts. Glad you are home safe and sound. Dena
Hi Dena, I’ve already made my list for Christmas in July! I’m excited too and I’m glad to be doing that with you and others! I have a long list so I’ll probably do one each day as I can just so I can touch each one.
Great plan Patty for your Christmas in July. I am so excited about it, but I am also enjoying my June stitching, aiming high for some page finishes now. Happy Stitching! Dena
JT looks marvelous...Congrats to him!! Totally enjoyed this video and always look forward to seeing more progress!! Your STITCHING is PHENOMENAL!! Are you going to the retreat in Huntsville?? HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY IN 2024!!
Hi Dena! Congratulations to both you & your son on your journeys as you both look great! You're making great progress on your WIPs .. love seeing them. I'll join you with the Christmas in July Stitching. I have abt 2 or 3 WIPs that need some loving & theres a couple that I would love to start as well .. decisions decisions! At the end of the month I'll switch to some Patriotic Stitching while I watch the Summer Olympics! Love watching them & Ive got a few WIPs plus several new starts that I can do while glued to the TV. Have a great week & Happy Stitching! 😊
Nice finishes! I also stitched the HOD "A Classic Christmas" and stitched my Lights in a variety of floss colors to mimic the lights we had growing up. Maybe ask your Vet if you can give Cocoa a 25mg Benadryl pill prior to a long car ride, as it might make her a bit sleepy and more calm. I will do Christmas in July & some Patriotic pieces too.
Oh my goodness, your son looks so healthy and happy. It sounds like you had a very full weekend with him. Yes, I will be stitching Christmas in July. I have decided to make all 3 of my grandchildren a Prarrie Schooler Santa. I am working on the first on on 7 count fabric using #3 DMC pearl cotton. It's absolutely huge! I don't know how to finish it as a stand-up, but that is what I'd like to have done with it. I think I will stitch the other two on 10 count and use #5 pearl cotton.
Hi Deana, JT looks fabulous as do you! I have to tell you I have been watching some of your older videos and Mirabilia’s Giggles is gorgeous! I just love it. I am thing about Christmas in July, not sure if it will be only Christmas. Happy Stitching!
Dena, congratulations to you and JT on your healthy changes. You both look great. I love your stitching and your life updates. Your bubbly personality always come through and makes my day better. No matter what is going on, you always brighten my day with your smile and beautiful stitching. I have decided this July to put away any larger pieces and stitch nothing but ornaments. As many as I can. I want to share some with friends and pass down to family members. Of course I'll need a few new ones for my tree😊
JT looks great. Glad you got a chance to get together. I'm in for Christmas in July. I can't believe it's halfway through June already. I will be working on Cranberry Christmas by artful offerings. It is different then the Cranberry Christmas you did. I have a cross stitch started in 2021 Punch needle and cross stitch magazine. Teresa kogut,Santa's young buck. I only got the border done. It is bigger then I thought. I also have Santa Claus by Heaven and Earth Designs. It may go in permanent time out but I will look at it. Each of these projects had issues. I have vintage Christmas by Lori Holt. I have a couple squares to go. That one was fun! Merry Christmas!
Kathyn, sounds like a great line up. You will move these projects forward or decide to eliminate them altogether. Both are steps moving forward so I like that. Dena
WOW!!!! You both look amazing!!!!! So happy for you both, I'm sure you both feel a whole lot better. So glad you had a great time being all together again. Thanks for taking us along and sharing with all of us!!
Thanks Cindy for the supportive comments. You are so right. It is such a joy to visit with JT and hear about his life and how much he is fitting in and loving it there in his new home town. I miss him, but I wouldn't want him to change a thing. Dena
When we know that something is going to happen that will “stress” our Zoe, the vet gave us a prescription for Trazadone. We give it to her 30 minutes in advance, and it REALLY helps.
We give Cocoa the same medication that you give Zoe. Cocoa stays alert and on guard and pants and trembles the entire trip and once we arrive, she collapses and sleeps for hours. It is as if she can hold it off until she is safely out of the car before she gives in to the effects. It is bizarre. Dena
Hello Dena your son must of thought you looked great congratulations to both of you. Pleased to hear that your visit was so enjoyable. Always a treat to see your progress on the WIPS. Happy stitching.
Hi Dena. Glad you are getting those June goals met because I’m really looking forward to watching you stitch Christmas in July! You and your son look so amazing!!! Congrats to you both!!
You and JT both look great!!!! I would love to know more about the diet since it is working so well for you both. "Maybe I'll know the name of it by the time I finish it" ha ha ha ha ha. I have one or two like that.
Julie, we are both following the diet JT was assigned after his weight loss surgery. Nothing white (no rice, pasta, bread or potatoes, etc). No caffeine, no carbonated drinks. In the beginning, only soft proteins (chicken, fish, tofu, eggs, cottage cheese) then add in cooked vegetables, then raw veggies. After 6 months you can add in red meat on occasion. Hope this helps. Dena
Hi, Dena. You sure had a great stitchy week. It was good to see JT having a day off and spending it with guys. I've been to Statesboro. Nice small city, very pretty and easy to get around in. I ate at Gnat's Landing. It was very good, although I must confess I had been driving through really heavy rain for about 6 hours and was starving, so anything would have been good. 😂 Your June sounds fun, with a lot of variety and some finishes already. ❤
Judy, my June is going very well. I have completed the first 5 of 7 goals I set for myself. Now I am working some on number 6, but I will interject other WIPs to meet the remaining acrostics as I go along. Dena
So pleased that you had such a great visit with your son. I'm already making plans to see my son next year. It's hard when they move away. Your stitching is awesome. I like the goals you've set. I'm going to think about Christmas in July stitching. What advice would you give for doing the 3 in 3 for Stitch New Jersey?
I loved doing that when I went, starting several projects, one each hour. Here's what I recommend....pick small to medium projects and go ahead and count to where you will start and put your first stitch in, just the first stitch and leave your thread hanging. Then when it is time, you thread your needle with your handing thread and you are ready to go! Then you spend the entire hour stitching and not deciding where to start and counting to get to the start and then double and triple checking, etc. You get an hour of stitching into each new start. ENJOY! Dena

Kathy, sounds like your July plans are going to be awesome. I like that you are combining the two seasons in the one month. Dena
Debra, what a great idea to add in the Patriotic stitches. I have one, so I may add in in as well. Dena
Sounds great! Your grandchildren will love those big Santas! Vonna has a great tutorial on Stand Ups! Dena
Hi Deana, JT looks fabulous as do you! I have to tell you I have been watching some of your older videos and Mirabilia’s Giggles is gorgeous! I just love it. I am thing about Christmas in July, not sure if it will be only Christmas. Happy Stitching!
Cheryl, even if you do some Christmas in July, that will be fun to know you are joining in some. Do it the way that makes you happy! Dena
Carolyn, stitching the ornaments sounds wonderful! So glad you will be stitching Christmas in July with me and others. Happy Stitching. Dena
Dena
Oh dena, I love the addition of the beads on classic christmas. Awesome idea!
Thanks Sharon! I just felt like it would add the right spark to the piece. Dena
WOW!!!! You both look amazing!!!!! So happy for you both, I'm sure you both feel a whole lot better. So glad you had a great time being all together again. Thanks for taking us along and sharing with all of us!!
Jenn, thanks so very much for the kind words regarding my and JT's appearances. We were so happy for each other. Dena
Dena, you and your son look great! So does the hubby. 🎉
🧡🌼🧡
Thanks Betty! Really appreciate your kind compliments. Hope you are enjoying your stitching. Dena
Hey Dena....Visitng with our adult children is just pure joy isnt it? You and JT are both looking good. Keep up the wonderful effort. Cindy
Thanks so much Linda! I am working on goal number 6 now. LOL. Dena
Neil, thanks so much for the congrats to both JT and me regarding our health journeys. Working on 13th Colony today. Dena
Dena
@@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 thank you! I would struggle immensely with nothing white. Potatoes especially. You two have some great will power!
ENJOY! Dena
