feed the babies who dont have enough to eat, shoe the children with no shoes on their feet, house the people livin in the street. 50 years and nothings changed
This came out when I was 14 - we were totally hooked! Such a fun band, and yes, funky. I really like the bass line in this song. A great band live. Check out The Joker. Thanks for the reaction!
Don't check out the Joker... its a lame, gimmicky song that drunk, middle-aged women and their friends sing, while holding drinks up in the air and try and dance without losing their balance. That should paint a picture. It's a cringe song.
Another of those LPs that never wasn’t playing in every dorm hallway. Boz, Boston, this LP, The Year of the Cat, Isley’s Voyage to Atlantis, and Rod Stewart’s Tonight’s the Night. . . 24/7 all that year. Then there’d be those listening to all the classics-Neil Young, Derek&the Dominoes, Beatles, Led Zeppelin . . . What an era for young people to be mostly responsibility-free.
My "like" click was for Corey!! I love how much he gets lost in a song.. I just wish you guys touched more on the social message about fixing societal ills like homelessness, poverty and hunger.
Shortly after the band was formed, there was a guitarist an lead and background vocalist who joined the band that had a great career on his own. Mr. Boz Scaggs.
Got to see Steve Miller Band live at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. Couple decades back with my dad. They have their own following. It’s kind of like a Grateful Dead show just smaller. People party in the parking lot and all that. It was a hell of a show they didn’t get out there and dance around or any of that they just stood there and jammed, and they sounded as good live as they do recorded.
Quite the guitarist Steve Miller is. This is my favorite song of his. Have a listen to "Threshold/Jet Air Liner". "Threshold' being the intro. Also "Take The Money And Run" is a good one along with, a decade before that, "Living In The USA".
great writer, lots of great songs. Love this one. This album sounds like a greatest hits album, so much radio airplay and the "deep cuts" were great too. Would recommend Mercury Blues from same album, a little gem that's a personal fav.
Currently my fav reaction channel. Your reactions are true and real. I love how youve realized much of the rock genre isnt just heavy metal etc and some is heavily infused with r&b, funk or soft rock. So many great songs. Ive also noticed that black folks unanimously love Michael Mcdonald! And who doesnt? You guys are some cool brothers. Keep it going! Big fan!
1976 Bicentennial listening to this on my very own brandy new 1st FM radio, dreaming of having a tape recorder, little did I know that almost 50 years later I'd be listening to this song watching you guys. on something called the internet.
I, and an older gent', worked for him on his ranch; north of Williams, Oregon (where I lived)... up until he sold it in `86. That was a great spot...just beautiful.

Check out, keep on a rockin me! Great tune! You wont regret it!
OMGOSH! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 I lived in Seattle in the ‘80’s and we’d go to the Laser Dome at the Seattle Center and watch great psychedelic light shows. I remember seeing them, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin ❤️ Thanks guys!
Was working my first job at Kmart at 16. Guy came in wanting this record. I didn’t have it but said I was unpacking some and I found it for him! I thought he was going to kiss me he was so happy!!!!
We moved from Cali. to Idaho and then back within 2 years. Our kids were 6 and 9. They both know all of Steve Miller Bands hits, Metallica, AC/DC, Ozzy, and more. Only the best 😉
Classic '70s space rocker from the space cowboy. Solid cover versions were released by both the Neville Brothers and Seal in the 1990s. Miller himself backed the Nevilles on their version.
Steve Miller is super underrated as a guitarist and singer/songwriter. The entire Fly Like An Eagle album is fire. He has a lot of great songs. React to his first big hit The Joker, Jet Airliner (only with the instrumental intro), Take The Money And Run, Swingtown, Rock'n Me, Winter Time and True Fine Love.
"8-Track"?.....what is that?....like a train with lots of wheels or something?.....JUST KIDDING!....I'm old too!.....I owned a few 8-Tracks....Billy Joel "The Stranger" and a couple Eagles albums come to mind.
It's my understanding that Seal was worried about covering this song, so first reached out to Miller, who gave his blessing. Seal did a great job with his version, and Miller agreed.
You dudes have a great thing going here. Appreciated the Led Zeppelin for sure. I used to play this loud. I was a young teen when this came out. Great album.
Nice to see Steve Miller here,we’re getting closer to the 70’s gems; I’m expecting the joker soon; still a lot out the untouched; where is Bad Co; Dr. Hook, Steppenwolf y’all 💪
Yep, it was a big hit twice..the 2nd was courtesy of a big hit movie Starring Micheal Jordan and Bugs Bunny " Space Jam" And as a pretty skilled/college trained keyboardist, I 'll admit it's a great piece of work.
That's Boz Scaggs in the thumbnail image (right end, opposite Steve), San Francisco '67 - Summer of Love, the psychedelic Steve Miller Band. Super Mario is psych.
DEODATO - "" 2001: A Space Odyssey "" 1973 FUNKY JAZZ ROCK VERSION // Cover of the original 1968 CLASSIC One of the Best JAMS Ever from the Early 70's In the Style of this Groovy song by Steve Miller it's Amazing Too. Highly recommend it this song is Originally called " Also Sprach Zarathustra " piano 🎹 🎸🎺 Highly recommend it
Funny how we took seemingly average, but good, songs for granted back then. Never a favorite, not even a Steve Miller favorite, but on re-listen today, it sounds so good.
feed the babies who dont have enough to eat, shoe the children with no shoes on their feet, house the people livin in the street. 50 years and nothings changed
Damn. You’re right. 😔
Yep. Nothing. Every administration is gonna fix that, right?? 😉
That’s the message… time keeps on slipping into the future
Okay Abbie Hoffman whatever you say
@@sarahdixon1943 The government will never solve these problems. It's up to the people.
Steve Miller Band. ❤ They have some great gems. Thank you gentleman.
Please check out "Take the Money And Run", "The Joker" and "Jet Airliner".👍
Excellent recommendations.👍
I would add "Jungle Love," "Swingtown," and "Wild Mountain Honey."
The Joker and Jungle love are two more great songs to check out.
I remember this song playing on a transistor radio hanging from my bicycle handlebars when I was 10 years old 😃
My brother bought this album & I know it in it's entirety. Great 70's music here!
Undeniable Vibe...
Timeless brilliance never gets old .
Thanks for this one !
Now go back and listen to this right into the next tune “Wild Mountain Honey”. Headphone bliss back in the 70’s.
livin' in the USA ... goin' to Mexico...your saving grace.. all great older Steve Miller songs.
I saw Steve Miller Band couple times. They are awesome live, and Steve Miller is a really kind man

We already know about those things.
Lean back and close your eyes and, just listen....Oh yes!! ♥️😀
Headphones were everything then😊
Wild Mountain Honey and Serenade are both beautiful songs.
Shortly after the band was formed, there was a guitarist an lead and background vocalist who joined the band that had a great career on his own. Mr. Boz Scaggs.
This was our song in high school. We were the eagles. Lindblom class of 1980. Such great memories ❤️
I wore out my older brothers LP playing this in 1976. I was eight years old.
I saw the Steve Miller Band last summer, and he is still phenomenal.
Still relevant today, great music great vocals great message
Saw the Steve Miller Band in '77.. what an amazing show. This song was a standout. Great memory.
At 10, when I would hear this on the radio I thought this had an other worldly sound to it. The end is ahead of its time. Love it!
I was in high school when this came out! Great memories!!!
THE WINDOW, WINTERTIME.
Thanks a million.
A song way ahead of its time. Loved this band was in my teens when this came out. Dive in men this band has much to enjoy.

This song is funky-great drumming and bass. Great song!
Early 70’s Elton; Benny and the jets,Levon,Don’t let the sun go down🤷♂️
I saw this song at the Seattle Lasarium.
A laser show put to music. Good times. Great song.
Steve Miller lived in my home town Milwaukee with his fam🎉 proud he came from here at least a part of his musicianship life
LOVE THIS SONG ❤
The USPS used this in their commercials.
Cool, Space Cowboy and The Stake are a couple of deep cuts from Steve.
Fantastic groove, Love the reaction. God Bless🌹
1976 Bicentennial listening to this on my very own brandy new 1st FM radio, dreaming of having a tape recorder, little did I know that almost 50 years later I'd be listening to this song watching you guys. on something called the internet.
They probably couldn’t have imagined us listening in 2025 when they recorded it either
Jet Airliner is definitely my favorite & Take the money and run is #2
I, and an older gent', worked for him on his ranch; north of Williams, Oregon (where I lived)... up until he sold it in `86. That was a great spot...just beautiful.

Perfect version.
The organ / keyboard and bass really carries this song
It was unique when it arrived. I particularly enjoy the keyboard, so light and funky. Even the synth was rare at the time.
Was working my first job at Kmart at 16. Guy came in wanting this record. I didn’t have it but said I was unpacking some and I found it for him! I thought he was going to kiss me he was so happy!!!!
Thanks for playing this one. Kind of unique to do a song at that time without featuring lead guitars.
My first concert, summer 1978 with the Beach Boys at the old Giants stadium NJ, I was 11 years old.
We moved from Cali. to Idaho and then back within 2 years. Our kids were 6 and 9. They both know all of Steve Miller Bands hits, Metallica, AC/DC, Ozzy, and more. Only the best 😉
"Living in the USA", an even earlier tune from Steve Miller, more fun rock & roll.
Absolute classic. Enjoy your channel!
Classic '70s space rocker from the space cowboy. Solid cover versions were released by both the Neville Brothers and Seal in the 1990s. Miller himself backed the Nevilles on their version.
Awww, should have played the intro track to this too, it compliments it very well, they go together.
If I were a cop, I would hate to interrogate Olliewood He gives nothing away! 😂

Take the Money & Run!
Had this album on 8-track back in high school.
"8-Track"?.....what is that?....like a train with lots of wheels or something?.....JUST KIDDING!....I'm old too!.....I owned a few 8-Tracks....Billy Joel "The Stranger" and a couple Eagles albums come to mind.
Great, great band!! High School was my favorite time. The music, my god the music!
It's my understanding that Seal was worried about covering this song, so first reached out to Miller, who gave his blessing. Seal did a great job with his version, and Miller agreed.

Tremendous
This is the Steve Miller I remember. The best! I was 18 years old when this album came out. :)
Nice to see Steve Miller here,we’re getting closer to the 70’s gems; I’m expecting the joker soon; still a lot out the untouched; where is Bad Co; Dr. Hook, Steppenwolf y’all 💪
Jungle Love and Swingtown are also bangers.
Yep, it was a big hit twice..the 2nd was courtesy of a big hit movie Starring Micheal Jordan and Bugs Bunny " Space Jam" And as a pretty skilled/college trained keyboardist, I 'll admit it's a great piece of work.
Jungle Love is my favorite
That's Boz Scaggs in the thumbnail image (right end, opposite Steve), San Francisco '67 - Summer of Love, the psychedelic Steve Miller Band. Super Mario is psych.
Boz Skaggs was in Steve's band in the early years.
Downtown Science sampled it on "Out There but in There."
Lenny Kravets also did a cover of this in the nineties.
Steve Miller Band they have many hits y’all guys need to check them out. Thanks for reacting one of my favorites.❤
Absolutely 🔥
Song was released my senior year in high school. Not a big Steve Miller fan but I like this song. ✌️❤️🤘
So many. But you gotta do my fav, The Joker.

The Les paul taught him guitar and he had a band with the great Boz Scaggs
The only positive contribution my older sis had in my life … Rovk n Roll like SMB
lol
Swingtown or take the money and run next!!
I burnt up this 8track in my 66 Charger cruising Indy!
Great album. Book Of Dreams, too.
Does this sound like the 70s OR WHAT LOL
This track should NEVER be played without the synth intro.
Funny how we took seemingly average, but good, songs for granted back then. Never a favorite, not even a Steve Miller favorite, but on re-listen today, it sounds so good.
Some of that backing music reminds me of The Neville Brothers...cool reaction!
They did an awesome cover of this in the 90’s. Hard to find but it’s awesome.
You should also check out a phenomenal cover of this, by The Neville Brothers!
Great choice. Happy New Year!
EPMD flipped this joint to wonderful effect.
Stevie "guitar" Miller is the boss. Anything from Anthology, The Joker, Fly Like an Eagle, Book of Dreams is a hit, a very deep and wide rabbit hole.
He and Boz Scaggs were running mates
The Joker is their best song in my opinion Love the content
And how do they not sound like parliament and P Funk these guys were incredible
❤Steve Miller ❤ listen to this day!!!2025!!!

The Eagles invented Extra high Ticket Prices.... They started the idea of $300 tickets when all other shows were $30.00
