This is a really well done review. Scripted, concise, thoughtfully organized, tightly edited. It addressed the questions that potential buyers want to know. So many reviews are just stream-of-consciousness blabbing behind endless GoPro shots or lazy repetition of manufacturer talking points. Such a relief to discover a useful review. Obvious that you did your homework first. Thank you!
I have a 2019 RDX SHAWD Advance. I wrapped the chrome in black and changed the wheels. Looks better than aspec now and no issues so far. Every once in a while the pano roof makes a noise in off camber angles but not too often, it happens with other cars with pano roofs too. It's sporty, and have hauled my dogs, people, boxes for moving houses and round trip road trips with no issues. the infotainment is easy to get used to.
I apologize, I missed it; what is the ONE big issue? You listed a few things (like the touchpad controlled non-touch screen), but I didn't pick up on what the biggest negative was. My apologies for missing it.
Just purchased a Tech Package for the wife who loves it, I hate the push button shifter. The Tech package has the same drive modes and paddle shift. I'm old school, would have loved a CD player with the great sound system and an all around camera. My opinion is that there are too many trim levels for essentially an identical vehicle. Wife doesn't mind not having a touchscreen.
Yes the programing has some issues, hope the aftermarket comes in soon, but yes the transmission itself is fine way better than everyone else. Of you switch drive modes it wont gear hunt, but you will use a lot more gas.
I like it!! I have a 22 MDX leased - coming due next August. I may think about Trading Down from the MDX. As a 72 yo retired guy, I mostly drive locally with occassional longer trips per month. One key takeaway that I saw was the lack of a power /electric tilt steering Wheel ?? For this kind of $$$$$ that is a petty omission. I've had that on my last 4 Infinitis, and the 2019 MDX and now on my 22 MDX !. Come On Acura, really ?? I have the TTIP Touchpad on my 22 MDX, it still "bugs" me bc it still forces me to take my eyes off the road to use it. The HUD is big plus to be able to engage features like radio stations. And ay You don't mention but you will discover after you get the car home and use either Android Auto or Car Play, the TTIP is downright AWFUL in that mode. Works entirely differently, like the worst , slowest Mouse Pad you ever had!!
Been a Acura driver my whole life but.. I'm waiting for the all-new Mazda CX-70 over this. Want the Inline6 hybrid rear-wheel bias drive system and newer infotainment system.
Is that a used truck? I saw dealer branding on the back and I've bought 2 Acura's in 2 different states and I've never had dealer branding on them, I was told that Acura doesn't allow dealers to do that on new cars.
No place to rest your elbows? Really? I adjust the seat on mine to where I'm comfortable and the console cover and door pad fits to my elbows perfectly.
absolutely not - closer to 6.3 to 6.6 seconds. my bro in law has a bmw x3 which does 6 seconds flat & feels faster & has much smoother acceleration & shifting than the rdx. that being said, i like the rdx a hair better than the x3
MDX is bigger, more towing, third row and removable 2nd row middle seat. RDX has better ground clearance, less performance and smaller screens inside. Both have optional sh-awd, performance styling and room for tall people to fit in each row.
Nothing really compares to rdx + better performance over every one. - only 20mpg +good transmission - transmission needs better programing to get better mpg - cant fit a mountain bike inside + moonroof is cool af - its a little on the heavy side. + easy to maintain + affordable to maintain - doesnt come with 16 inch wheels, so no offroading +good on sand, snow and water. + sportsedan handling + it can easily go over medians and sidewalks in case of emergencies

If it makes noises on off angles do you think it would hold up in a crash?
Is advanced the highest trim level
Since the really change from last year is price why haven't they improved the negatives?
Because it’s a cost savings which a few of them they could’ve fixed 👍

It’s fine, I put this to explain the pros and cons 👍

Title is misleading.. gotta get those click views so dont blame him.. Title gotta pop
Why would you tow from a luxury vehicle?
You can adjust the center arm padded console to slide foward, Its really easy to miss
For me it’s no problem, I’m tall 😁👍
not if you have a water bottle and a cup of coffee, HORIBBLE design, one of a kind awful design.
This has a CVT? Does the sunroof open?
No cvt and yes you can get a sunroof
Yep, it has a 10 speed gear transmission, yup the moonroof is gigantic, it almost open to the rear passenger are.

Congrats and thanks for sharing
I think the acura RDX AWD transmission is a issue example delay in shifting hunting for gears. Anyone please comment. If you having this experience.
It’s the shift by wire, this can add a delay
@@HawkeyeRides thanks
Corrected by adding additional ground cables

You will be trading up, RDX , is faster and handles better:)
Nice review 🎉
Thank you

Then real fast start n go
On a 2023
Auto start/stop feature
Been a Acura driver my whole life but.. I'm waiting for the all-new Mazda CX-70 over this. Want the Inline6 hybrid rear-wheel bias drive system and newer infotainment system.
Acura makes a good vehicle but it would be awesome if they would change the infotainment 👍
The Red gauge cluster. Red is the only color?
That’s in sport mode
Is that a used truck? I saw dealer branding on the back and I've bought 2 Acura's in 2 different states and I've never had dealer branding on them, I was told that Acura doesn't allow dealers to do that on new cars.
This was brand new and when I took this one, it still had transport mode which I had to work around because it didn’t go through a full pdi yet
No charging ports in the back ?
time stamp
06:06

This depends on the height and dimension of a persons 👍
The A spec is clean but says only FWD. I also like the wheels from A spec better then these but I want the foglights and awd
The A Spec makes it look sharp
Thought it was 0-60 around 5.7 no?
Any 0-60 specs can be different by lots of different reasons (that’s why some companies don’t even post them) but they are fun vehicles 👍

Good ole Lakeland 💪
Yep 👍
We like the touch pad. I hate an oil finger print covered touch screen.
I prefer touchscreens but the both work
Needs a type s.
I agree
compare MDX to RDX
MDX is bigger, more towing, third row and removable 2nd row middle seat. RDX has better ground clearance, less performance and smaller screens inside. Both have optional sh-awd, performance styling and room for tall people to fit in each row.
Thank you--same engine choices? Never mind, I can look it up easily enough. Thank you.@@HawkeyeRides

Thanks for your thoughts 👍
The BIGGEST issue an RDX has is that its fuel efficiency is absolute SHITE! I drive primarily on freeways and get 22mpg. Way below what they state.
Thanks for your owner insight 👍
It use be a V6
Yeah but you only lose 7hp with this engine 👍

Base model is literally just as nice. Save some money
They are nice
If it was just as nice, it wouldn’t cost less than a fully loaded model. The “jUsT aS gOoD” remarks never hold true.
Two words, my friend: swamp ass. When you live in the south, ventilated seats are a game changer.
