The diffrence between the last and first cyclist isnt in that range you can be pretty sure that most of the cyclist are using drugs like that. You just should legalize it than it would be a fair competition. It‘s still the same problem in cycelling there is nearly no winner of the tour without fraud allegations since over two decades.

      Now you are making excuses for someone who was caught breaking the rules, and you are illustrating my point exactly. Rules are rules. Cheating is cheating. People love to invent a sliding scale to excuse the actions of people they like and admire, but the fact remains - HE CHEATED, AND GOT CAUGHT. That is a historical fact, not an opinion.

    A Champion is a CHAMPION! I don't care what anyone says, he won those 7 medals fair! To bad the human condition fails after a while, so there is no way to have him re-compete for them for the skeptics to believe. Regardless, his Livestrong foundation has help so many people and honestly, that is what really matters!

    • @Penguin_of_Death
      @Penguin_of_Death 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Er...so how do you work out he won them fair?

    • @BoiseG
      @BoiseG 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      beevaeeta Maybe because everyone he defeated has also tested positive for PEDs? The playing field was equal.

    • @Penguin_of_Death
      @Penguin_of_Death 10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      mtbkbmt He 'defeated' everyone that finished in a lower place, but not EVERYONE below him has tested positive for PED's. That would mean the entire peloton. So even if the top 20 riders were all doping, he didn't defeat the guy in 21st 'fairly', therefore the playing field was not equal

    • @BoiseG
      @BoiseG 10 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      beevaeeta Lance didn't introduce the peleton to PEDs, he merely played the game by the game's unwritten playbook. If the guy in 21st place would have had the talent to rank as his team's GC, he knew what was required to sit in the driver's seat and would have jumped at the chance, just like the other 22 contenders. Truth be known, most of the domestiques had to use PEDs just to perform at their level.
      Besides, the UCI knew exactly what was going on behind the scenes and turned a blind eye until their hand was forced by public exposure.

    he remains for me one of the greatest athletes of all times.
    and if he had not attracted on him the hate of some french journalists,he still would be considered like that;his opponents were all taking epo,they competed equally,and he was the best

      I have to agree. Watching the documentary "The Armstrong Lie" I must say I am convinced that he wasnt alone in doping. So he doped. So he got caught after a lot of years. Was he the only doper? No. Was Everyone else also doping? Perhaps. What does EPO and other enhancing drugs actually do? Lets say they give you 10% extra stamina, endurance when its hard. In my book, then you're still 90% a fantastic athlete. If everyone was clean maybe he still would have won? Hard to say. I think its time to get over the hate though. He still is a fantastic athlete, even though he was viritually skyrocketed full of dope.

    He ran a great race here, and yes, as you say, he was "the best doper" back in the day. But he made life very difficult for people that he saw threatening his clean image. Greg LeMond, Mike Anderson, Emma O'Reilly, and riders who unwittingly joined his teams but weren't prepared to go along with the "program"; they all lost when they came up against Lance: businesses, jobs, career opportunities, or their good names. If you search for those names, you'll see some ways his doping mattered.

    "Who were all these riders?" You can just look them up, you know. The people who were definitively caught were Zulle (part of Festina, admitted to using EPO), Ullrich (suspended several times, admitted to doping), Rumsas (tested positive for EPO, suspended), Basso (admitted to "attempted doping", suspended), and Vinokourov (tested positive, suspended). Kloden and Beloki were both implicated in doping scandals although nothing was ever proven.

    I doubt he was cheating being it was such a small event..and just to set the record straight.steroids my help you compete at a professional level and your race the absolute best that is also doing steroids but you still got to train you a$$
    off and you still got have that desire to want to win..nothing out there will make that happen

    • @vangelderresike
      @vangelderresike 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      He did. Also the 2nd place and so on maby. Especially when there is money involved people are using. It may only be some sarms or peptides, altho some sarms will make you a absolute machine if it comes to endurance. But don't think people are clean when there is money to win. About steroids, yes they don't use steroids anymore....well the people who are smart and have money.

    Lance Armstrong is a legend. Unfortunately, his reputation is tarnished because he admitted to using PEDs. I don't advocate PEDs... period! But on the flip side, the awareness that he has brought to cancer awareness is awesome. PEDs don't make you great, they help you maintain your performance abilities for a longer period. His athleticism and abilities came from dedication and effort. So before all of these "glass houses" throw stones, if you have taken a puff on your inhaler to treat your asthma so that you can continue doing your sport... you have just taken a PED! The commission that decides which drugs are legal and which are not is a joke.

    • @philliptjackson
      @philliptjackson 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      "PEDs don't make you great, they help you maintain your performance..."
      Why are they called performance enhancing, if they don't improve performance?

    • @innismor11
      @innismor11 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, ignorance is bliss.
      PED's enhance performance, that's why they are called PED's.
      He was trying to taint triathlon with all this 2012 triathlon stuff -- get outta our sport, Lance! Racing juiced in triathlon as well; running faster than HE DID WAS HE WAS 20 YEARS OLD. Meh.
      Lance wasn't just a liar and a drug cheat; he was also a thug.
      To each their own (hero).

    • @jfsorrentino
      @jfsorrentino 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes and I am sure that when you put your car in "performance mode" you can go out there and win Daytona six times. Skill, practice, dedication, endurance, grind, perseverance, and everything else that a real athlete would understand I am sure had nothing to do with him winning six times. I am sure any fat moron can get off the couch, take a few "PED's and go finish the Ironman in Kona in record time. I never excused his drug taking. Funny thing is, neither did he, that's why he confessed. it's just people with zero skill who criticize those with it.

    • @jfsorrentino
      @jfsorrentino 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok you win. Lol Lance Armstrong didn't finish anything in front of anyone. He never existed. The frogs who were given the wins are the best. Does that make you feel better about yourself now? Glad I can positively contribute to your low self-esteem.

    His biggest accomplishment will be forgiving himself and learning that competition is the polar opposite of cooperation. The best things about this man, and his charity work show that he can cooperate for a good cause. If he wants to grow to the next level it is his journey. I used to judge him for his lies and cheating, but now I have come to accept him for where he's at. If there was a fair system of justice he would be in jail for lying in court and stealing millions in sponsorship money

      They are athletes. Usually riders from road cycling (competitive form) are skinny.
      To consider someone an athlete, the sport involve physical strength, speed and/or endurance. And a cyclist has to have a high ability to suffer long hours in the saddle and maintain high speeds (speed and endurance).

    • @SpraynnPray
      @SpraynnPray 9 ปีที่แล้ว
