IMPROVING FENCING THE SMALL SUCKLER WAY & OUR FIRST CALF IS A GOOD ONE

- In today's video I'm taking advantage of the drier weather and started to clear the fencing on a patch of ground that wasn't touched for years. Briars, furse and Sallys were cut back before driving stakes and tightening the wire. Tough work but good result.
Eventually our first calf arrived a week after her due date but he's a good one!
Keep up the good work your lucky to have this as a distraction from the office
Don’t know how keep going- full time job, and farming. Some woman. So natural in presentation. Should be proud of herself.
Thank you!
God Karen you are some hard grafter, you family must be so proud of you. Take care over the weekend if the forecast is correct.
Hi Karen thanks for another great video.Awesome team work with the fencing it looks great 👍. What a wonderful little calf love his colour. Hope you had a beer 🍺 after all that hedging and fencing. Thanks again take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
Thank you 😊
Hi Karen,
I always look forward to seeing your latest video, have watched for over a year now. When I first found you driving the 135 is was so pleased, I was a tractor /combine driver in the 70s and early 80s. After 40 years as a Paramedic i have now retired. My guilty pleasure is watching farming videos and driving classic tractors on Farming Simulator.
You and your dad have a lovely farm in a beautiful location and should be so proud of what you achieve with other family help.
I wish I had your energy, you work like a trojan. I can't wait till we see your 390 in action, your a.pro now on the loader. You deserve more equipment to make life easier for you all.
Thanks for sharing your stories with us, you give so many people so much pleasure.
Enjoy a well earnt break with your friends.
Best Wishes,
Poth.

Fence looks fine, job well done. Congratulations with the family expansion ;)
Hi Karen, another great video, you went through a lot of hard work getting that hedge trimmed, and the fence up, and your cow caved safe, and the calf is doing great, so things are going great now Karen. 👍
I love watching your videos Karen ❤❤❤❤
Great video Karen as always
Your a hard working girl and another great video
Karen another good video x
Hard work well done. Congrats on the new babies.
When it rains, its like a tidalwave, land is so so wet, hopefully it dries up from now on,wonderful video.
That's a nice little bull. Hope the weather gets a lot drier and warmer for everyone. You are getting the rain we need in Florida. If we don't get more rain we're going to have a helluva fire season this year. It's all going north or south of us.
I hope the second calf has arrived and you have stopped worrying.
You always do an excellent job Karen, ypou should be very proud .❤

😂😂😂
Well done.great video karen
great video good looking calf well done
Those trimmers are sold with a harness here in New Zealand, makes it easier on the back and arms.
I have the harness but it's not designed for 5'2" women so it's absolutely no use unfortunately
Seeing you learn that drill trick made my day :D Glad this tiny part of the job is going to be much easier for you! "In Drill We Trust" hahahaha
Nice video Karen, grand calf there, stay safe from the storm
Thank you, you too
Good work" Ireland's own Superwoman ". Beautiful calf for sure. Best regards from your Northern neighbor lol. X
😂😂
Great video again Karen you should get a harness or shoulder strap for your hedge trimmer to balance the weight
I must look to see if I can get one to fit. The one that came with it is way too big for me
@@karenmoynihanfarm you can also get a helmet with ear defenders on and visor. 3 in one.
Just a thought with regard to artificial manure application. Could you not get a little trailed and ground driven applicator to tow behind your Gator. You would be able to get on the ground a lot sooner than with the '135' and the Vicon, plus you wouldn't do any harm to the soil as the Gator would be a lot lighter in terms of overall weight.
It's definitely an option but right now we have a list of things we want to do or buy so that will have to wait but it would be ideal to have that option
She is happy as Larry
Great video and robs joke was hilarious 😂
Don't encourage him 😂
@@karenmoynihanfarm 😁
Good looking calf enjoyed rob 🤭 😅
have a lovely friday night with youre friends. i bet the craic is good in kerry.
Nice one Karen
Karen can you use a MF135 sidebar scythe mower to clear your fence lines? Seems it would be a handy way to keep things tidy. Take care 😊
well done. i have do the cutting back the bushes round our field on a regular basis as when they touch the fence it stops working. the first time was a nightmare but now its done regularly its quite easy
Jag älskar att se dej i gummistövlar och du har ju många par gummistövlar som du använder ❤❤
I see why you're back is sore because the strimmers is to short pity wasn't big longer
It's hard to beat the simmentals 💪
Never a minute Karen,great video
There storm coming
Lovely fine health calf you got
Good stuff
Don't worry scanning does not give a definite time
Karen to be troublesome love I do not give a bugger whether you get a calf I just want Enjoy yourselves with the girls you are absolutely brewing Karen and your family your dad please I keep saying send my love he is amazing as well as you sweetheart keep smiling that is all you can do love❤ 2:00 ❤
You should see if can get hedgecutter on demo now you got bigger tractor. If not get a harness for the saw and trimmer takes pressure of your back amd shoulders
I cut the fur at the butt

FIRST....🆒 Video KAREN !!!!
Just use your topper to cut the scrub from under the wire fence
Watched UR Video On AG Watch....Karen !!!
You need a Hedgecutter for your big Ferguson
Get a good brush spray, and then it would be easy to deal to
😂 it must be the same way in every hse to call a cat over to ya also ya shud tell rob the posts cud do with been down another bit for the crack 👍🏻
I did and it didn't go down well 😂
Hallo Karen great to see a good lively calf and no problem calving do you run a stock bull or use A I. Enjoy the weekend
Thanks, it's all AI here
Next purchase has to be a flail cutter for that new massey. Save your back and hours of time.
I would be dangerous
I'm sure you'll be fine. Just go slow to start with.
Why don't you push them in with the bucket on the zoom boom?
ROB! LOL
Please can I say Karen I did not want to say it, I did not want to sound a pervert or anything else like that but tell you something love you look absolutely amazing I did not want to sound a pervert or anything else like that but tell you something love you look absolutely I just mean Karen you are beautiful hard-working young lady oh my God my heart goes out to you not many of you about now love❤
you know if i could i would help you
Great job . But don't you have someone local with a tractor hedge cutter to do it for you to save your back
The field would be in bits
@karenmoynihanfarm yes the ground is certainly wet. Pointless making mess for no reason 👍
next one is storm kathleen coming. another storm . rain. it wont stop anytime soon. but milder , so you end up putting same clothes on to stay dry . but get too warm. its only april. apparently. lol.
hopefully youre good. you are welcome. have a lovely weekend.
Lovely looking calf, does he have a name,if not I'm thinking you could call him beanzs 😂😂
I've actually already called him Noah because of the weather 😂
Good 1,😂😂😂
morning karen . hes a size the simmy calf. aint it lovely when they calf on the own. they get big very quick. i used to work with limmys. very protective. very very. / didnt know simms were the same attitude. mind yourself karen. dont be there on youre own . twos better than one. they will never know what you see and feel. some are good , some are not. just like the cows i milked. instinct, or sometimes they dont want to know. keep smiling and happy. go kerry/ karen.
youre welcome karen.
Babey :)!
Hi Karen what attachment did u use on the drill to put in the insulators?
I don't know what it's called but it comes in some of the big boxes of insulators
@@karenmoynihanfarm thanks for that, found it in an old box...now to get a drill😂
@@joycecondra8424 😂😂
How many cattle have you
19
How are ye so late with calving
Couldn't spot them bulling. we're actually so lucky we are calving late because we'd be in serious trouble now if they had all calved as we'd have nowhere to put them
You've mentioned Rob name a few times how is he
My husband
How much do you get paid for cutting the bushes off?
how many days to you count as being full term for the cows? and remind me what the story is with the big black cow. How come she isn't in calf?
It's different for different breeds. The black cow has very big tears and the last 2 calves have struggled to suck. she's incredibly difficult to work with when getting the calf on her so we just can't keep doing it or someone will get hurt
@karenmoynihanfarm ah yes I remember that now. Will you be sending her to the factory. Yes different breeds carry and even different bulls within breeds carry different lengths. 285 days would be average across most breeds. I've had simmental calves out of one bull born at 280 days and another carry to 300 days. That's why I was curious as to how many days you counted before saying over due.
Just wondering how far did you put every post because in de video they look to be very near each other
8 foot apart. Same as my last fencing video where someone told me they were too far apart so I can't win
@@karenmoynihanfarm I go about 10 yards apart
@@pauljamesfitzmaurice3192 sorry I meant to say 8 metres so I'm not too far off that
What do feed your cows what are they eating on
Silage, soya bean meal and pre calving minerals
Karen, get in a tractor and hedge cutter next autumn and scull that hedge back in about 8ft inside the wire. 😅
I wish 😂
Could you just not leave the scarting until September like you are supposed to and give wildlife a chance?
Karen where is your protective head gear safe working is paramount
I'm wearing it
Second
Do you want straw??
I have some coming tomorrow TG. Thanks though!
@@karenmoynihanfarm kk, it's really starting to drag on 😩
@@briancronin8476 I will honestly have cows and calves loose around the shed at this rate because I am fast running out of places to put them
@@karenmoynihanfarm I'm buying silage since January, over 14k spent already, I hope their worth it 🤔
