I live with Bipolar Disorder II. This means I alternate between hypomania and depression, and like Abena, my depressive episodes usually last months at a time. Kudos to KSM, Abena and her uncle for putting a spotlight on this painful mental condition. Bipolar disorder humbles you, and does not care whether you are smart, good-looking, young or wealthy. Half of the time, you cannot tell who you really are, and hypomania which feels monumentally better than depression, can itself be a huge impediment to your healing journey. It is essentially an identity crisis that is triggered by the ego constantly being at war with itself: inflated and grandiose during mania and deflated and defeated during depression. Eventually however, with much awareness, a good support system, therapy, lifestyle changes and medication, you are able to thrive. Most importantly, you learn to accept your condition and forgive yourself, love yourself and take care of yourself unconditionally, and you come to accept the world for what it is, forgive people more and be kind to others. You become more mindful and present, taking life one moment at a time and being grateful for your human experience, especially the little things our flawed selves often take for granted. Bipolar, if managed well, can prove to be, I believe, a blessing in disguise.
Thx for this useful insight.. I think I've not shown much empathy n have become more judgmental ..I will now see her behaviour frm a different angle henceforth

Bipolar cannot be cured, it can only be managed! She's fundamentally intelligent, but mentally unbalanced if she's been diagnosed with bipolar, u are born that way. Sometimes the medications make it worse, a lot of trial and error on meds to land on the right meds for her brain chemistry.

You right❤❤
For those questioning why she looks, and seems 'off', she stated clearly that she was on lithium medication. Some of the side effects are drowsiness, slurred speech, confusion, disorientation, cognitive impairment etc
Jokers...built institution that can help mental health...Abenaa issue is not cureable..we manage it..under special conditions...papa sofo..go preach wae..❤❤❤
I am beginning to think Abena korkor is been paid to act like a bipolar patient as a Bipolar ambassador just like Joyce Dzidzor Mensah the AIDS ambassador because it seems Abena korkor is over hyping the bipolar condition. I am aware the bipolar medication can influence her but still Abena help yourself small I know you can do it you are strong.
Quite disappointed with this interview. The lady is not mentally fit to sit down for an interview.

@@funprints1 Yes and still the interview did her a grave injustice. She is not a circus animal to be paraded around for people to gape at. The host was poorly prepared on the subject and the opportunity to actually expand the conversation around mental illness in Ghana and what progressive, clinical and wholistic treatment options are available in Ghana were lost.
@@rositascarborough5751 It didn't. Let's take myself for example, I have heard so much about her and seen some of her videos but i don't know her like this. Now if there's any content out there, i will know how to consume it. It is good for people to know what is wrong with her to be able to deal with her the right way.
Judging from Abena's reaction during the interview, those close to her must monitor her in the coming days. She's acting as though she is about to relapse.
You were a prophet. I thought so too and today she is in the media space again for the wrong reasons. God help Abena
Great show, Snr KSM
This man doesn’t know the the friend of arm robber is arm robber but friend of a rich man is a poor man
This lady is beyond repairs. 😂
Nothing is beyond repairs. She can definitely get fine
Shame on you.. and you added a laughing emoji
Rev, you reallyneed more years with her. Cos looking at her I don't see any change kraa 😂😂
Whatever money these people are collecting from all this it’s not worth her sanity. Trust me
She's high as a kite during this interview. I wish people would stop interviewing this woman while she's inebriated. It's exploitation and sensationalism and a negative impact on her wellbeing.
If you are sick go to the hospital and get medical help, don't go to church don't go to a counsellor. At least see a medical professional first then go see a counsellor.
