Depends on what meta it is at that time, the non engine is tailored for the format. Ran is optional as well, this deck doesn't really make use of Chengying too well as an interruption and Gymir's effect is situational since the protection is often redundant with Wave already (I'm willing to test but it's hard to keep too many spare waters in hand since you'll likely also need them for Triangle and Bubble Reef's effects too)
I haven't looked to see completed updated combo guides for marincess but fortunately, the deck isn't too complicated. Once you do some practicing in solo mode a few times you should get the hang of basic combos and most of your combos will go through similar lines using the same ed monsters. Any marincess video with gameplay (even this one) should have combos that you can reference as examples
I just run more non engine instead of desires. There's almost no 2 card combination this deck can draw off desires going 2nd that can play through most boards rn.
@@raffycruise4465 A Thrust package works fine because you can also search Wave going first which can give you an extra body by either keeping a water in hand for Great Bubble Reef or allowing you to make your link 4 using splash mage into coral without needing to go through a link 3. So Herald of the Abyss, Evenly, Tactics (Need to run Eria to link off what you steal in that case), etc along with Thrusts

@@raffycruise4465The alternative is a small world package over mining with Dream Shark. That bridges any marincess or handtrap into gameciel or any other marincess monster and Dream Shark itself is just a nice extender. I've had mixed feelings about Kaijus recently given Kash's propensity to put up boards that resist them (Double Arise, Arise Shang Fenrir Unicorn) instead of just single Arise pass.

You only need to see one of 14 marincess cards to full combo which is 90% in a 40 card deck. Ideally I open 3-4 handtraps every game.
