Nice.. I love this track. You should put a GoPro on the rear and show the feed in the bottom right corner. It'd be cool to see cars coming up behind you as well as seeing ones you pass. A somewhat expensive option but well worth it when watching the footage.
TTime685 I totally agree and I actually have multiple Gopro's. I seem to have enough problems remembering to start and stop, and watch the battery life of just the one camera though haha. I'll have to slowly work up to two.
dragonmustard2 Thanks for the follow up! I did install the carbon bits and have thought about a walk around, but I haven't got around to it for a couple of reasons. I'm not super comfortable being, or talking on camera lol, and all I have is a gopro which is not the best camera to film something like that. Much too fish eye. I'm talking with a friend who does videos and hopefully we can put something together!
A jacko No not really. Big power was never my plan, and it brakes and handles better than most STI's. I just didn't want to build another car based of the super old EJ, I wanted to give Subaru's new motor a shot. So far I love it.
NegusGaming I do occasionally shoot flames when I take it all the way up to redline. Watch the video of one of my dyno sessions, it spits some fire at the end.
How close did you have the mic in the engine bay? I remember trying it but the intake induction maxed out the mic lol. I just run a cable from my Gopro to the back of the car now for the exhaust clips.
Zcypot I tape a small mic to the top of the passenger strut tower. It only really sounds good at wide open throttle. Driving around town all you get is lifters.
Sounds awesome man! Love this car! I have one suggestion though, if I may. I think the engine bay mic is overwhelming the exhaust mic. Maybe turn that one down just a tad bit? Anyways, great video!
JayceStardasher Good feedback, thank you. Unfortunately right now the mics just plug right into the gopro so I have no control over the levels. I've looked for a small mixer, or control board that uses aux cables so that I could make adjustments but so far I haven't found anything.
Paul, I just did my first track event with my new 2017 bone stock WRX at NHMS (have done multiple races and 20+ days under my belt). Being used to tracking cars with coilover suspension, under 3100lbs and pushing more than 300+whp, needless to say it left something to be desired. I don't want to go too crazy with the mods because I do daily drive this particular car (and I share a dedicated track car which I typically have access to) but it would be nice to give it a little more edge (and maybe without voiding the warranty if possible as it is my first new car :) ). What are the top 3 track-performance mods you would suggest? Love the videos ESP the sound quality :)
for anyone else watching this and wondering the same question. 1: brake pads/fluid 2: lightweight wheels/sticky tires 3: rear sway bar 4: (optional but free) remove the spare tire and tools/jack
Andrew Funston I'm still playing with my line on 7/7A, I can't decide if I like the tight double apex line, or the stay wide and only hit 7A line. And no, unfortunately I wasn't rolling during that session.
Yeah - When I watch/talk to the TT folks with NASA the AWD guys double apex - the fast RWD late apex. I've heard from both groups that (depending on which one you're talking to) both are faster - you'll just have to play with it. I like the double apex, but I'm not sure if it's faster, just more fun to hook and run.
Aaron Hao No the WRX comes with open diffs, you can hear it a few times. I've dialed plenty of rotation into the chassis with suspention, but on some of the off camber turns the inside front slips a bit more than I'd like.
Your car and induction noise and everything sounded INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! I love this video
Nice man. Was hoping you'd catch that mustang! These videos are really making me miss my car haha
Cali WRX It was a Gt350R haha. I chase down mustangs all the time but not that mustang, if fact I'm surprised I stayed with him as long as I did.
Hey it's not the car... It's the driver!
It just goes to show how well this dude can handle that Subie. Hanging with a GT350R. The WRX has some power, but no step on snek
2 more months then i will be reunited with my baby!
imagine what one of these with a flex fuel kit and a properly upgraded drive train could do?
Do you remember how the go pro was mounted? Really dig this angle
I used a sticky go pro mount and stuck it to the dome light in the ceiling of the car. I mounted the camera upside down from it.
@@tr4ck_day Awesome! Thanks man!
Hey. I dig what you do with the sound on these videos.
love your videos man, car sounds amazing.
Great video love the footage
You've got some great video's man, subi looks and sounds amazing! + Subbed!

Paul Brumm Haha it's all good man. All in time..
Wow the noises this wrx makes are incredible congrats brother. What is it stage 3?
Holy crap! Your mods list!!!! Worth it??? Wow. My car is nowhere track ready....😩
Hey Paul. Did you ever install your carbon fiber bits? I'm really excited and waiting for your walk around video!
dragonmustard2 Thanks for the follow up! I did install the carbon bits and have thought about a walk around, but I haven't got around to it for a couple of reasons. It'd be super cool if you did a walk around of your track ready WRX. I'm sure a lot of people want to see it.
Do you have a build thread somewhere?
Craigslist: Mint Subaru wrx for sale. Baby’d and all highway miles.
Dumped it on CarMax 🤣🤣
do you wish you bought the STI doing track days and such

Paul Brumm well the car looks like a beast keep it up.
Hey Paul! Wondering if you know if you shoot flames with your setup!

@@tr4ck_day Fantastic sound quality in this video. Do you remember which mics you used? Thank you!

Hey Paul! Andy in the white Speed3
Like the double Apex on 7/7a - clean line - did you get your FTD on camera?
Andrew Funston I'm still playing with my line on 7/7A, I can't decide if I like the tight double apex line, or the stay wide and only hit 7A line. And no, unfortunately I wasn't rolling during that session.

do you have an LSD?

ah okay. i thought you would've thrown in an LSD since you seem to always drive it to its limits. Good driving!
😳😲🤔👍🏼
