Really Love your videos. They have been massively helpful. I've even become a Patreon. Your sample packs are superb as well. some of the best out there. Please keep doing what you do.
I've been giving the new LIFE VST by XO a trial run this past week. It's nice, but costs an arm and a leg at $149 for a VST top loop generator. Then I found your video here. ...well, there you go! Once I wrapped my head around Neurothmic Drums and how "Octave" and "Transpose" are for selecting the exact note/sample in the rack to be played at each step, I made a few different racks of my own, and am loving it. Actually like this one better than LIFE. All built right in to Ableton with Max. Thank you for sharing this top loop technique/tool!🙏
dude I'm your fan) thanks for sharing so much creativity! but daym man, I almost spilled by coffee on keyboard when you said "utility" with mexican accent loool
The problem with this is that it introduces a completely different feel, that sounds much more like house. Your original groove could be perfect for a mid tempo dance or edm track. Adding more percussive elements should never be a fix all.
Thanks for the feedback. I do think that it’s quite important to include percussive elements like these to fill out grooves though to make them feel more intricate and organic. ✌🏽
