    great video thanks. We are in the process of outfitting my boat. Can you please tell me where you got the rod holders attached to your 2''-2.5" tubing. we are looking for 2.5" clamps like yours to install similar rod holders. As well, what are the brand name of the rod holders and track system. Happy fishing, thanks again

    • @danthefisher
      @danthefisher  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Holly that's a good question. Nick the owner of the boats also does welding and fabrication so he welds all those holders for us aswell and building arches for other boats that want them done up! If your looking to get those holders done up for you this winter let me know and il connect you with Nick and you can go from there.

    Awesome action. Will be my second time this weekend up in lake ontario on my own boa usually launchbout of mexico bay. How much would you charge to be a deckhand on my boat for one day?

  • @davidlobbestael7770
    @davidlobbestael7770 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Awesome video! Love seeing fish that will fight another day. Question, you had downrigger releases going off that were in the air (not at the ball or stacked). Were they surface lines? Using meat?

    • @danthefisher
      @danthefisher  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leadcores straight off the clip yeah!

    • @davidlobbestael7770
      @davidlobbestael7770 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@danthefisher Ah, never ran em that way. I suppose you get the visual of the release like that. We run lead and copper straight out and off boards. Going to try that, thanks.

    What are you running off that small release attached to the rigger boom? Don’t think I’ve seen that before

    • @danthefisher
      @danthefisher  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not really a thing it was just a temp clip for lead cores. Guys do it for offshore fishing down south but with shorter rigs

  • @johng.9877
    @johng.9877 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Dan, question... What setup are you running as the second rod off the rigger? like a stacker but leaving the release out of the water at the tip of the rigger pole? just a surface line? Please explain that setup as it will help me get an additional 2 rods in the water where applicable. ty in advance

    • @danthefisher
      @danthefisher  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey John its just a leadcore let out all the way to the backing and then clipped into a scotty clip attached to the downrigger boom. I usually only run short lead cores like 6 and shorter because the chance of tangling is pretty high if a rigger pops.

    • @danthefisher

      @@danthefisher my guess would be the issue of holding the fish from the lower jaw , unsupported, and then releasing, there are lots of studies that show there is a high mortality. with a much greater chance of them dieing , vs someone else being able to catch them again, might as well keep them, or at least keep them in the net and let review in the water, just a though
