Andrew Scott is not only a great actor, he comes over as a humble and down to earth person too.
There is a bit done by Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig at the 2024 Golden Globes. During the end of their skit the camera pans to the crowd and Andrew’s reaction is just SO good.

I looked it up and watched it. That’s how much of a fan I am of Andrew Scott. I watched Ripley in one day, and then a few weeks later I watched the whole series again one night. You’re right, his reaction at the Golden Globes was great. Love his laugh, and I bet he’s a good dancer. ❤

This series put into perspective how excruciatingly difficult getting rid of a dead body is. It had me sweating and panting like a pig.

That episode was so good. So slow and so suspenseful.
In the book the character of Freddie is actually described as a big, heavy brute, freckled and red haired. After "collapsing like a bull," his "mountainous" form lays on the ground. . .
And in the book Ripley carries him all the way down the stairs standing up. Would have been way too unrealistic for the show lol. But I liked how they did Freddie for the show actually. Great characterization.
Another thing I really liked about the show is how closely it follows the book. There are only some small differences, and some ironic and funny. The additional story line of Caravaggio parallels was a great addition. That's not in the book.
The book makes it all possible but I reeaaalllyy enjoyed this show. One of the best films ever made. Anyways sorry for rambling on your comment haha. Cheers

Andrew Scott was an amazing Tom Ripley. If we could go back in time and pick any actor to play Ripley, I'd love to have seen Anthony Perkins in the role.

I'm so glad I was between shows when this came out, and that I decided to give it a try. It's easily up there with Breaking Bad as far as all-time greats. Truly exceptional in every way.

I love the take on this story as a show. I think the episodic system works. Andrew Scott was amazing too.

The series was so great except the final conversation between the Italian investigator and Ripley with the wig and beard disguise is utterly ridiculous and disappointing. Also the wealthy Greenleaf family's private detective being black in 1961 makes no sense at all and takes you out of the scenes
