I eventually want to expand to artists, animators and the like, but since music is what I know the most about (despite this artist working on multiple animations and not one single song, ha!) I think it's best to start there. Now, obviously my earliest content won't be the best, but we've all gotta start somewhere, right? I was wondering if you'd do me the honor of being the first channel I showcase, as part of my "practice" and "gaining subs" stage... if you'll allow me to, of course! ^ ^ To be clear on what it'd include: Designed primarily as a showcase and not a review/critique, its primary focus and overall content would talk up your strengths and personal style. Short, pointed clips of some of your works would play in the background, directly referencing to what I refer. You're clearly getting pretty popular right now, hence why I considered you a good starting point, but of course every artist has room to improve; it'd end with a respectful one to three small but hopefully helpful constructive criticisms, taking care to avoid nitpicks, actual complaint, or just an overall rude attitude. I can't say just yet how it'll turn out, but my goal is to make each of these last less than five minutes maximum; besides not really needing longer than that, people would be more inclined to watch that way, ha! ^ ^

The original intent of the line is to refer to the various styles of swing dancing from the 1920s-40's which became popular around the same time as the rise of swing style jazz music from which it gets its' name. "As they swung" is intended to mean "as they danced" basically, though the theme and motifs of the song are based heavily in the swing style, so I wanted to make the style of dance clear. In my head I imagined many of the ponies Luna invited to the ball were probably high ranking and high class ponies from Canterlot whom she despised, hence the line about the day rats "flaunting sickly pride", and I suppose having so many enemies in one place and surprising them right there WOULD be a good time to eliminate some opposition... >u> *shot* I guess it all depends on how you want to view Luna's attempted takover. The music and dance refers to the ball that Luna threw for the ponies and royalty of Canterlot, gathering all her foes and the ponies who so often slept through her night into one place to triumphantly announce her takeover, and subsequently remove those who might oppose her all at once. Swingtime music was popular back in the roaring 20s in America leading into the great depression, it grew especially popular in underground German clubs in the 30s where it became associated with rebelliousness due to the music being banned in Germany at the time (google "Swingjugend" =u=). The rebellious history of swing and old-time-y feel I felt was a perfect avenue to tell Luna's tale of uprising, and I imagined the ponies of Canterlot all dancing to swing music that Luna would have prepared at the ball, unaware of the plan Nightmare Moon was putting into motion.

Photoshop and AE pretty much. I know Premiere Pro as well. I've done a tiny bit of testing in Flash, but nothing worth calling myself any good yet.
