Instead of the extensions. You can use some u or c channel with 3 holes cut out for each for the burners and just weld it on top of the tubes. Or use your press brake with that sheet metal with the 3 holes cut off at the bottom. Maybe bend it at a 45 or 30. \__/ that should stop the wind and let the heat spread on the griddle
Brother, I live in Brazil and I follow your stove projects, I'm going to reproduce some models for hobby here, congratulations!...family, homeland and freedom! God bless you!
Thanks, I do have plans to build a pizza oven attachment. Speaking of, check out this awesome pizza pit I built. th-cam.com/video/kEo2KAFUOWg/w-d-xo.html
Would love to see the heat distribution in another episode! To see how the temperature difference between your different zones with the dampers and possibly “grease injection.” Just to see how effective your ideas are! Great build and can’t wait to see what comes of it with different applications!
Andrew if you leave the ash pan open on the lead end, it will act like a scoop when you push it back into the ash collection compartment. There is the potential for ash to collect while the pan is removed and a closed pan may compact it at the end of the ash collection compartment. Love the ideas and builds you share!
Hi Andrew what a fantastic build with your new Rocket Stove Griddle with your added touch. You think of it all Andrew 👍👍. I know it’s not but you make every thing look so easy to do. Love what you do on these videos!! 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Just had a chance to watch this video. Enjoyed this one emensely. On your idea with the lil extensions. Maybe make them on 22°or 45° angles or somewhere in there. But, I think the shroud would work better. Here's why. One, it would keep heat away from you. You could make slots in the rear to allow excess heat to go out there. And maybe make a thin double shield on th front to keep away burning accidents and you can hang utensils from it. Plus, one last thing. Make a shield with handles that covers the whole griddle. Keeps bugs off food and cooking surface. Just a few more ideas for you to mull over in your down time lmbo. Have fun with it ALL BUD
Cool as can be!, thanks for the shoutout, it was fun pointing out to the wife who threw out that idea (lol) You are a kid in a candy store with that new welding setup :-) Great vid!
I am a handy man, but still have to master the art of welding…. But by seeing you build all of these amazing tools and equipment, I am more determined than ever to start with learning how to weld… Man, you make everything we see on this channel seem so easy and logical… keep up the good work and keep inspiring us please Btw…. I hate to have to wait so long such a nice project 😊
Maybe use extensions that flair out as they go up. Kinda like a square funnel that slips in to the tube to protect the flame from wind as it rises to the griddle.
Looks awesome. What about a butterfly damper inside each chamber that you can turn to cut heat off instantly. Or maybe easier a little flat square that you can swing over the top of each chamber to cut it out.
2 things ill recommend from my own griddling experience. 1, your gona want some leveling feet or somethin. I hate it when my griddle is out of level and I cant put down oil without it instantly rolling one way or another. I used al thread with some oversized wing nuts so I can just kick it with my foot to raise and lower corners as needed. 2, rethink that the grease tube entirely. first off when you go to rinse the top off to clean it gona be dumpin water into fire chamber unless you go and swap in a jar at that time, but also with that narrow a tube and the 90 elbow any little crumbs and such that normally find there way into a catch cup will plug that 90 pretty quick. If you really want to still burn the grease like that id suggest maybe some 1" square tube that runs down at a 45 as opposed to 1/4" round tube runnin to a 90. As an alternative, ive seen these kits for blackstones ETC that mount on and then run a tub down to a larger bucket for when your doin up large amounts of bacon etc so that you have more catch space than a little cup.
As for the top, I pull it off and go straight into my huge 3 compartment sink for cleaning. We are building a movable cooking pad for the outdoor area and these appliances. Ill probably incorporate a tilt design into it.
How about fitting a pair of wheels at one end of the fabrication and a handle at the other end. Assuming the creation is too heavy to easily lift you can wheel it around.
Cool stove, sorta off topic but you mentioned a few vide ago about homemade Firestarters for charcoal. Any progress on it. The news in tgd chimney is Ok but messy. Store bought Firestarters are expensive and probably have fuel In them. Thanks
How much does that thing weigh? Got to be 150 if the single unit was 80. A vertical flame stop between each burner that butts up to the bottom of the griddle to help keep the flame from rolling across the bottom of the griddle to help with heat control for the three cooking/heat areas on the top side of the griddle.
I used to build grills from copper nickel. I worked at MECO Int'l making saltwater to fresh water converters for Ship, subs and oil rigs. I could buy the scrap metal for little of nothing and would build grills of all kinds. Copper nickel doesn't rust , looks like brass but doesn't corrode and it's heavy as h+@$. You can leave it anywhere and no one can run off with it for sure...unless you put wheels on it, but it would still take 3 or more to lift it🤣.
@@PJ-uv9fr well not quite! i passed the test but have to wait for the FCC to send me an email and finish the last of the process and then wait to have my call sign show up in the data base!once that happens then im a ham
Better hurry and get a paten on this bro, some exec may be watching the channel and next thing you know, it will be for sale at your local home improvement centers.🤑
I am not sure the three burners are needed, to me it seems it just gives you three fires to look after instead of two. But if you don't try you will never know if it will work, so there is that. I do like the fact that your griddle/hotplate is removable and has a way to deal with grease runoff. Overall I like the design. I just happened to watch a video on the Gee Man Adventures channel that he posted 7 months ago, In it he improved on a rocket stove hotplate he build 2 years ago and got it running properly. His hotplate was smaller but his burn chamber was also a lot smaller. (th-cam.com/video/-BpXjKk7rtY/w-d-xo.html is the link to that video if you are interested) His hotplate was part of the chimney so it had a more direct heat and did not have to deal with wind. A downside was that the hotplate was not as easy to clean and lacked a grease channel.
I had a blast building this one! If you swipe from right to left on the comment section live chat is available now though the Premiere on Sunday.

Like a drywall mud pan with 3 holes cut out the bottom for each tube
id weld a pipe nipple to the base 6x6 tube for a place to screw \ store the drip tube or jar holder which ever one isn't in use
Sunflower seed oil and season that griddle like a cast iron...perfection

Oh boy this should be interesting 🫣
It was a blast!
You should do limited edition grills and sell these!
Looks amazing! I'd be concerned about roasted nuts though. You might need a heat shield at the top front edge.

A double or triple for heat or cooking is a great idea. So want time Saturday is breakfast and tour? 😊
An idea to have the option to raise or drop the distance of the fire is to make the grill be suspended like the Santa Maria Grill.
Amazing work 👍🏻
Thanks!
I'm excited about this one! Hoping to see some mad meats cooked on it!
We will get a few of those videos out soon

Maybe try making your extension tubes like funnels. That way you get the wind break but heat over a larger surface area.
Neat idea
@@TKCL more specifically a pyramid shaped funnel which should be easier to fabricate
Choochin' 🚂🔥

Absolutely killer build. Now I wonder how many rocket stoves it takes to make a pig smoker...
Sky's the limit! Thanks for watching Elliot!
Maybe need high temp thermometers on the smoke stack of each one to make it so you can have better heat control?
I've been using thermal to judge it 😉
that def works as well.@@TKCL

Yes, absolutely. I'll be playing with some ideas.

nice grilled but carbon steel would been better than stainsteel will seasen better
Can you burn the grease as a fuel as your cooking?
Yes you can

Two burners might work, but they would need to be 6x6. I wanted 3 because I was concerned about hot and cold spots.
