Had this happen with one of my previous managers. At the time, I was working two jobs (one full time, and this one was part time), and my manager had scheduled me outside my availability. Well, more outside of my functionality, as I was TECHNICALLY available, but I wasn't about to pull a 60-hr work week with no day off. So I called the store to reiterate that I wasn't available for that many hours (as I'd already informed them) and that I needed fewer. This is the exact conversation: Manager: Do you like your job? (In that tone clearly hinting that it was at risk) Me: Do you like YOURS? I can always call the union rep if you think it's needed. Manager: (very long silence) Ah yes, one of the perks of being in a union. As of now, that manager is no longer at our store (I don't know if she's still with the company, but I haven't seen her in years), I'm now working full time at this job alone, and I'm about to hit my fifteenth anniversary with the company. Good times.

Fun fact: if they just stop scheduling your (or even significantly cut your hours) you can usually get unemployment for that.
