CLINIQUE NEW! 💧💧💦 Moisture Surge Hydrating Lotion Review

  • So many fun new products for me to play with lately! Clinique has released a couple new ones, their Dramatically Different Moisturizing BB Gel, which is great, and their newest member of the Moisture Surge Famility- a Hydrating Lotion.
    The Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Lotion can be used like a traditional toner (with a cotton pad) or used more like an Essence where you simply pat it onto skin.
    This is one of Clinique's better "toning" type products. Many of the Toner's from Clinique's Three Step Program contain high amounts of denatured/ drying types of alcohol. Because of this I typically steer people in a different direction because of how dry and irritating they can be.

    Clinique is underrated. Many of there products are great, good ingredients and fragrance free. Also pretty sure they were one of the first to use research and dermatology stuff back in the day. I think ppl have a bad notion of them because of the old three step range with the soap and alcohol toner.

      Clinique can be great for people who are new to Skincare, it's a great place to start. Pretty solid products overall. I agree with you. I just wish they were cruelty free.

    Ohhh, this sounds lovely! Last year I bought a toner (it stung) and their newest moisture surge cream, and got 8 travel sized and I think 2 full sized items for free. Out of all of it, I only really loved the Moisture surge 72 hour cream/gel. I love how it sinks into the skin, even after my gazillion layers of serums, lol. I have super dry, sensitive, eczema prone skin and find it very moisturizing.
    I currently use a DIY Matcha Tea water, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair wild Oat Toner (thanks to you), Hada Labo Milky Lotion, a spritz of the Youva Glacial Water Toner Mist and Mad Hippie Nutrient Mist and the COSRX Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence twice a day, and BEFORE starting my pm routine with Differin .3% gel. It sounds crazy, but I use thin layers and my skin sucks it in within seconds. We heat with wood, and I haven't had an eczema flare since using these. I have the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence on the way, so I'll be adding that, too. I'm going to check ingredients on the Clinique Moisture Surge essence and may give that a try when I run out of COSRX, so thanks so much for letting us know!

      You will have to let me know what you think of the snail cream when you get to try it out! Last year when we accidentally forgot to fill up the propane tank we heated our house with wood for about two weeks and it was SO drying. I'm impressed you have found a way to do that without getting super dry skin. You must be doing something right! I'm going to have to check out that Glacial Water Toner you mentioned. 😃

    I’m totally into the Bamboo thing. I have been using the Keep Cool bamboo toner & I LOVE IT!! It definitely competes with the I’m From rice toner and of course I LOVE the Honey Mask, and the Mugwort mask, my HG masks! I would love to see you review the I’m From stuff. Hadn’t seen this but will check it out. 💕 I did see the Too Faced cleanser and of course it has fragrance 🤭🤨

      I was so bummed with the Too Faced products, I was hoping the fragrance might be super light... but it's not. Super strong and it takes a while to dissipate. I should have known...

      No BS Beauty I know! So silly if makeup brands are going to venture into skincare then they should make it for all skin types. These brands market these products for a “young” demographic. 🤔

Today’s really bad. The thing about Gastroparesis is that it can feel like the stomach flu so there are times when I don’t know which is which. Like now:( Lol@“a little bit a time ago”. I'd love a review on the I'm From brand. I was considering their honey mask. I use the Asamo scinic honey all-in-one ampoule 250 ml as a mask, because it's a bit thick and sticky to use in my everyday routine. It's also hard to get in Canada, and the price was over $100 on Amazon for quite a long time.

    • @NOBSBeauty

      I'm loving the I'm From Honey Mask, it is wonderful! It is sticky and a bit messy, but well worth it. Canadians have so much to deal with from shipping, duties, and availability with products.

I would hope from there we can build a grassroots campaign to persuade the IF team to please please PLEASE release a grain-free version of the I'm From Rice Mask!! I am thinking of adding their Mugwort serum to my routine as well. Thanks!!

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oooh I'm totally all about a grain free version of the rice mask. The first time I used it that is all I could think of, those little grains get so rough and can actually hurt a little. I was expecting the mask to be more like the rice toner. ☹
      Happy Holidays to you as well!

    This was a product you could only get on Clinique's website for a very long time. It's not new; it's just been a hidden gem. I have rosacea and I have to use VERY little and not often. If I use too much it stings. Thank you rosacea!😁 Anyways, it's ok. I probably won't repurchase. I'd love to find a toner that doesn't irritate rosacea but I'm sure it doesn't exist. What's the closest to skin's Ph? Thanks!

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Have you ever thought of trying the I'm From Rice Toner? It is so gentle, contains only a few ingredients. and feels super soothing and hydrating. Skin's natural pH Level is right around 5.5 so products close to that are ideal.

    I wish there was more oatmeal skincare products. My sensitive rosacea skin loves oatmeal. This is random but....omg....Clinique JUST came out with a GORGEOUS highlighter. Brand new. It's available in Asia and Canada but good news. It's available on QVC. It's got a cute rat emblem with flowers on the product. It's in red packaging. It's called GOLD CELEBRATION POP. Limited Edition. They came out with it to celebrate Chinese year of the rat 2020. We'll see alot of these products I'm sure. 😁

    Do you have any idea why barley extract is always a star ingredient in clinique products? Kinda confused about this ingredient, anyway relieved to see this one is colourant free too! Looks pretty good!

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      🤔😉 You echo my thoughts exactly! Clinique and Estee Lauder products almost always have lots of barley extract in them. Barley extract is such a mediocre ingredient and really doesn't do much for anti-aging. I think barley can offer a bit of hydration and a bit of skin soothing, other than that it's about it. I feel like Clinique almost has a revolving list of ingredients they choose from... Other than that I do like this lotion/toner. Their Moisture Surge line is probably one of their better creations.
